The location on the lake was breathtaking and the superior room was spacious. I was shocked that I was unable to get anything to eat at 4pm due to all cafe bar restaurants closing between 2 and 3.30pm.
Excellent services and facilities. The best hotel in Riva Del Garda. a few (but pleasent) minutes walk to the town center, internet is not free.
The hotel has pleasant grounds, appears to have a good range of facilites, and the breakfast buffet is reasonable. The standard rooms are of low quality with plastic chairs, table, and furniture and have a general air of shabbiness. They are certainly not up the standard expected of a 4-star hotel and the high price charged. The desk staff are generally unconcerned and unhelpful.
Location view and staff and brekfast where all excellent On the website it had said there was an indoor swimming pool but there wasn't
Breakfast is good. It is a four star hotel with a bed that's 1.60*1,85m very small. Value for money is poor.
Good clean building with high quality finishes. The air conditioning was broken resulting in the rooms being far too hot to sleep and the management stated that there was nothing that could be done. No offer of compensation was mentioned but we were advised to open window !! This affected all 3 nights sleep. Also I believe the hotel definately needs a restaurant. Spa attendant seemed abrupt when questioned about bookings,
Very nice overall premises, very nice pool area and breakfast space. Appreciated the garage in the hotel for parking. The room itself was in need of renovation. Bathroom faucet was leaky, some of the fixtures were broken in both the room itself and in the bathroom. TV reception was poor (many TV channels were noisy). The 2nd floor wireless base station was inoperative so I could not really use the Internet in the room at all. Staff acknowledged problems when I complained, but no fixes were done for any of the problems during my visit. Excellent hotel otherwise if the room would be renovated. Other rooms in the hotel seemed to be updated, so we just got the worst one.
Riva is a stunning town with great restaurants/bars and fantastic scenery. The experience of having breakfast with the beautiful garden and pool in front of you and the mountains in the background - stunning.
Great location - near lake and old town. Pristine room and hotel generally. Great staff. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to one of the wellman suites - amazing room with jacuzzi, steam room and the best lakeside views. Just fantastic! no
The best location I have been in in my honey moon I stayed in the weakness spa which was great The shower is next to the entrance
This is a great little Italian hotel slap in the middle of Riva del Garda. It is traditional and stylish. We stayed for one nignt in August while attending the music festival and we had a very pretty balcony room with a view of the piazza and the tower. The hotel has good basic facilities and is completely charming. We ate breakfast which was exactly as expected in Italy with a good simple buffet. The restaurant was busy in the evening with plenty of Italians but we did not eat there. We would have but we were on a brief stay. Riva is a stunning place and our stay at the Portici will be one highlight of a lovely summer.
Good location, very close to the waterfront, doorman let us in after 1am with a smile. Long walk with luggage as it is in a pedestrian area, room very hot. Breakfast fruit juice was a mix, not real juice.
The clean room and the window and balcony facing the piazza The beds were to hard
this hotel is much much closer to the main area of Riva than we thought from the map. the place felt bran new and for this is was lacking something - however the guy at reception made me a fab cappuccino!
The location was very good. The breakfast was a nice European type buffet. The room and hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. Parking is a problem that is not fully explained. You cannot park at the hotel as it is a pedestrian only area. The. Staff. Was. Very. Helpful. In solving. Thus. Problem.
Spa was beautiful (if only for adults) Family room was good size We did not realise when we booked the hotel that the indoor pool facilities were only for 18+ adults. It should be made more clear in the publicity ... the children were disappointed.
The staff were very friendly The spa is only open for 4 hours a day but this was not clear on the website
Comfort, restaurant food excellent, Breakfast was not good, lack of space too crowded.Reservation of sunbeds before pool opened and non availability of these as apparently reserved by towels, but not used!
the pool and room.
This hotel was very expensive and it did not warrant it's price per night.
very bad food
The staff Were all very friendly and efficent, and had a really good standard of english. (This is a very German tourist area). It is only an eight minute walk to the Grand Hotel Liberty There is no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. Housekeeping will clean your room even if you put the "do not disturb" sign outside the door. This is rated as a 4star hotel, apart from the room being a bit bigger, there is very little difference between it an the 3star my friends were in
Staff spoke good English and were courteous, Internet always worked.Secure parking, Food and wine very good value. Walking distance to town.
the location. there is no park near.brekfest was fair/
Francesca in the reception was very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is in an ideal location for immediate access to old Riva del Garda and the lake. It is clean, bright and comfortable. Nothing major. We paid a bit extra for the suite to discover that it is on the fourth floor with such a slow lift that we had to use the stairs (74 every time!). Could be a problem for some guests, though we didn't mind. Wireless internet was supposed to be available in the room, but this was not the case. We appreciated the offer to buy us a cable, though were happy to use our computer in the Breakfast Room.
Excellent suit with good sized room and Jacuzzi Parking in the area proved to be very difficult
Our best hotel stay ever!!! Very nice and professional service and fantastic room!
Comfortable conditioning, cleanly, quietly
Location, cleanliess of the room. Mini-bar didn't work at all, we couldn't use it as a refrigerator (not could water, no ice, but temperature outside is + 35 at least) Hotel staff told us, that if we need smth fresh, we could leave it at the kitchen of the restaurant. There are no any plates & glases in the room. Air condition didn't work during the night. I couldn't recomend to stay there at least in summertime.
Proximity to area attractions at value price.
Right in the centre of Riva. Good location, friendly staff and you must try the Goulash Soup in their restaurant.
Friendly, helpful staff. Great menu in restaurant. Good breakfast.
It was located in the centre of the old town which was an excellent location to visit the town and the lake front. It also ran its own restaurant below which specialized in German cuisine, and the quality of the food was excellent, and the price reasonable. The room was well kept and clean with all the facilities needed. It had no parking but paid parking was available in a secured carpark 5 minutes' walk away.
Quiet, close to Lake of Garda ( 50m) too many campings around the Hotel, no mini bar, no information inside room
Nice and pleasant location, you find lots of shops and restaurants nearby, the hotel is situated by the lake beach, along a footpath that skirts the Garda Lake and leads you to the center of Riva del Garda. The bedrooms are excellent, good breakfast, friendly and efficient personnel. The hotel also offers an elegant Spa center. I honestly enjoyed my staying and would recommend you this hotel. The hotel is a bit far from the center.
Hotel was well placed for eating and shopping in riva del garda. Large room with balcony. Toe nail in bed when we arrived.
Spa center was very good, location of the hotel was excellent. Small TV without international channels, no cable TV
Directly placed at the lake, very good parking possibility ( really a problem in Riva ), personal very friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was very simple without any changes...not suitable for a 4* hotel. Our room was quite dirty ( bathroom ) and on the roof was some mould falling down. They offered balcony with side view lake...from our room was only the possibility to have a view at the camping place along the hotel.
Good location on lake front. Nice room. New and clean. Great dinner. Nice spa. Jacuzzi water is cold. Fresh fruit would have been appreciated rather than the canned fruit.
Modern decoration, breakfast ok, clean, close to the beach small room, distance from the centre, location by the busy main road, table reservations at the breakfast in the best tables
Good location close to beach and good pool.
very pleasent, helpful staff, relaxed enviorment.
View of the lake, parking was good. Too far to walk to the main town area. this hotel is surrounded by pizza bars for mountain bikers with little choice for anything else.
The free bike use was very useful, and the location is ideal for watersports, and is within walking distance of Riva town. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Modern design was nice, and good internet access and helpful staff with good local information. The sauna and steam room were nice too. Nice balacony with lovely views. The colour of the rooms were very dull (battleship grey!), and the wooden floors in the rooms were very noisy.
The hotel interior is clean, sleek and modern with a minimalist feel to the decor. Staff were helpful and cheerful without being over bearing. Only ate breakfast but it was of a high quality, however, if you must have your chocolate or coffee HOT then you will be disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable with a shower. The balcony area was large and had a side view over the marina towards the lake. Parking is limited but if you get a space then it's not a problem. There is underground parking but again spaces are few. Hot drinks at breakfast could be hotter!
The staff were very friendly and helpful the room had good views, the sound proofing was also very good, well built hotel
Staff were superb, extremely helpful. Room and all facilities very clean and well maintained. The sun terrace was lovely and quiet. The bar was very good value. The rooms are pretty small. The first one we were given was absolutely tiny with what was effectively a shared balcony (one large balcony which had been divided into three with thigh-height metal railings, so there was no privacy at all). My main problem is that the walls are paper thin. Short of actually joining them in bed I couldn't have been any closer to the people in the next room and their nocturnal activities. On one day we actually heard two cans of coke being opened in the next room.
Hotel was very modern and very very clean, would use again
Beautiful & clean, pretty good breakfast - almost no complaints! Rooms aren´t very soundproof.. Also, would be nice if the hotel staff could somehow limit the use of the internet from kids who sit and play (loud) games for hours (and their parents don´t mind). I would have needed the internet but couldn´t communicate with German kids.
The View from our "Riva" room was outstanding, Due to this location this hotel commands one of the best views of all the hotels in Riva Del Garda. The food, the breakfast spread and evening meal were excellent. Staff were helpful and obliging. The beds were very uncomfortable, we got bitten by bugs in the carpet, We only got twin beds rather than a double. Only one pillow on each bed - felt like I was staying in a hostel. No permanent staff at the bar, receptionist had to do it. Walking past sewage plant to get to Hotel. Stench was awful. The 30min walk to town. Apparently there is a shuttle from the Hotel we were never informed about.
We loved the mountain views, the pool, the location of the hotel,it was fantastic value for money.
very spacious room with a great balkony at the time we made our reservation , it was strickty written that the baby cot is free of charge. They changed that in the meantime and we had to pay; in spite the fact that our reservation was made at the time it was for free.
Room facillities and meals were excellent. The staff (manager in particular) wer very helpfull and friendly. Lovely view over the town from the veranda. Swimming pool location. Quite a walk to the centre of Riva (the old port). I think however there is a a shuttle bus in the morning and returns around tea time.
Great view to the lake, very polite staff The internet connection was very weak
The view from the balcony The room had no view
Nice swimming pool area and great views. The AC worked only at times. Room was very moist, which resulted in it feeling chilly. Not even the towels dried during night. Beds and pillows not very comfortable.
The view from our room was stunning- we could see a panoramic view of thr town and a small bit of the lake. The bedroom was lovely and modern. Compared to other 3 star hotels we stayed in during our trip the breakfast was poor. The hotel bar and reception area was very outdated and looked as though last had attention in the 80's.
Quiet location, nice view over the city and very friendly staff. Room did not fullfil completely given description while booking, otherwise small but comfortable. Allso every morning wake up latest at 7 am to the noise of early breakfast customers moving in the stairway behind the bed side wall...
The Staff at the hotel could not have been more helpful. They were a huge assistance to the language barrier. The room was bright, clean, fresh and well maintained.
Professional friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. Good breakfast
Good location by the beach. free parking.
A place where I found comfortable and safe with good service
Staff went out of their way to help us with transport when taxi's were fully booked. Great breakfast!
Free use of bicyles, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, plenty of eating places around
Very clean, recently renovated, friendly service, nice mountain views, quiet, pretty good breakfast, good parking
Good, basic hotel. Breakfast ok. Location was not perfect, but still walking distance from the centrum.
free bicycles extra for air-condition
During our stay we loved that the hotel was in a quiet street with a very nice view to the mountain. It is very close to the beach and to the promenade where you can have a nice walk (20 min.) to the center of the town. We didn't like, that there was only a few apples and plums as fresh fruit at the breakfast. Every other fruits have been canned. But the breakfast buffet at all was well sorted.
helpfulness and frindlyness of staff
nice and extensive breakfast
I liked the fact that everything simply worked as it should, from helpful staff,check-in,check-out,to easy access to the garage. Breakfast was ok. I would recommend this hotel to my friends. I would expect a free wifi in the whole hotel for free,we are in 21st century after all.
Helpful staff. Nice pool. Generous breakfast.
Staff were very helpful, breakfast was lovely and the free bikes were excellent.
Best part about the hotel was the incredible view we had of the Dolomites and the lake. We were in room 421 and were pleasantly surprised by this lovely site. We also made great use of the free bikes. We rode everyday to the beach, restaurants, and other places. Even with our 1.5 year old daughter, this was possible because of the baby seat they provided. We also were very happy with the breakfast - a lot of selection. Also, the people at the front desk were very kind and helpful. The air conditioning worked, but was not very cold, so in the hot Italian air, we were not always comfortable (but better than most from what we hear).
Good breakfast selection, nice pool, useful internet facility, great coin op laundry in basement, convenient location for the lake and riva del garda. Our room was always cleaned well. awful orange juice at breakfast(everything else was fantastic though)
staff room spotless. pool was not heated, could do with bigger play area for under 7yrs.sand instead of play a slide climbin frame playhouse
Facilities in room, location
The seaview was great! The staff was very helpful and nice.
Very nice hotel. Perferctly situated close to "everything" in "old" Riva. Staff in Breakfast Room rude and unfriendly for no reason (not busy at all)
friendly helpful staff; free and easy availability of bikes; good location perhaps improve variety of breakfast; pool not really useable;
It was too cold in the room
We are regular visitors to this hotel and really enjoy it. Its location is perfect overlooking the harbour and among bars, shops and restarants. The restaurant provides a wonderful panoramic view over the lake and harbour. It may not be the best in town but it is really good value and I have to say, location, location, location. Plenty going on in the town day and night to keep everyone happy. Mountains are easy to walk to out the back door and the lake out the front. Lovely roof terrace for a sunbathe or a splash in the small resistance jet pool. We will be going back again in 2011. Well done to the staff and Best Western No
Location, location, location ! Poor
Everything equaled or exceeded of the quality and standards excepted. Coffee/Tea/Kettle in the room woould have been nice
The hotel position on the lakeside
location was fantastic, service very good
The hotel was cenrally located, lovely breakfast and a very nice room.
The hotel is fine with good parking and swimming pool. Access to town is a 20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi. Rooms were fine and clean. No complaints, recommended.
Its location, friendly staff, the pool, generally everything Umbrellas for the pool area and possibly a pool bar/snack area would have been good
Nice place with plenty of room and helpful staff. Plenty of parking compared to other hotels, and even when the car park was full, the staff helped you find somewhere to park. Pool area and gardens where better than average in the area. Restaurant staff were excellent. Nice hotel. Breakfast was OK but there could have been a bit more choice. A toaster would have been nice..
A place where I found comfortable and safe with good service
everything was perfect
We have stayed at this hotel many times-love the pool area in the garden-perfect place to relax.A lovely walk along the lake into the centre of the town
Cash discount 5% and excellent breakfast cold water in the swiming pool
quiet,pleasant,central position. n/a
We had a very quiet room with balcony facing the garden with pool. I would recommend to book a room facing the garden as the street is quite noisy. Very friendly staff - especially in the breakfast room. Poor breakfast choice for European standards. Hotel parking insufficient - almost all the time full - if you arrive later in the afternoon from your trip you have to park your car in the neighborhood (public parking lot nearby 1 EUR / hour from 8 a.m. till 10 p.m.).
Quiet poolside rooms. Very clean. Lovely restaurant staff. No internent connection service in rooms as advertised
Friendly personnel, reception was open from early morning to late evening. Generous breakfast. Walking distance from the center of old city and from the beach of Lake Garda. Very good. Car parking was hard to find (10 euros/day)
Hotel in good location. Accommodation good although single room small but adequate. Great breakfast and good staff. Overall I would recommend the Giardino Verdi.
The position, and the friendliness of the staff
the reception i got when i arrived was disgraceful. the woman at reception was rude and very unapproachable. i had booked for three nights but my boyfriend missed his flight and i tried to cancel the last night but the receptionist said i had to pay for the room upfront and she said" lady you pay now i don't care if you leave now but you booked for 3 nights you pay" i did not like anything about this hotel. my room was tiny and so was my friends. it had a tiny walkway along the bed. the staff except for the bar staff were awful. i understood that you could cancel in advance is that not true?
There was absolutely nothing to recommend this hotel, the only part we liked was leaving it, the owner found us another hotel because they had no heating, hot water and we were so cold we needed blankets to go down to reception. The owner/receptionist was badly dressed and sloppy. The welcome was cool and it looked like we were disturbing them. After walking down a corridor, which resembled a prison - no pictures, cold, dark, souless, we were shown our room. Told heating on max. when in fact their heating system had broken down and they lied to us. After some time they found us another hotel for the same price.
Very central location and easy to park in the hotel basement. Excellent breakfasts.
The location of the hotel is ideal for a 5 minute walk to the water and main square. The bed was very comfortable, although the room was very stark, with functional but minimal cheap quality furniture. The en suite shower etc was well fitted with a much higher standard. Because the room was situated in the middle of the hotel, the view only overlooked the widows of other rooms. If staying for a while, push for a front room overlooking the park.
sport facilities, breakfast buffet, disponibility of staff, competence of staff, informations available (fliers)
Lovely modern building with lots of wood in interior and exterior, good bed and spacious room, great breakfast, play room for children in the hotel and playground in the hotel park also, nice pools for children inside and outside, possibility for sports (aqua trekking etc.) in the hotel, bikes for hotel customers balconies have no privacy
I liked that the hotel offered bikes, several pools and easy access down to the town center. no
we liked the welness center. It was real relax
stayed for 2 nights with my girlfriend, hotel was better than we expected, super clean, very nice wellness area and friendly staff. breakfast was good and we enjoyed a bike trip to a nearby castle arco. we were satisfied and we will surely be back to hotel rudy in 2011 the hotel is on a bit more busy road so we got waken up early in the morning one day. in the end it was a good thing though .)
Good clean hotel with a spacious room. Breakfast was plentiful and staff were friendly (though level of languages other than Italian was low). Location was a good 25min walk from Garda lake and footpaths were not great.
Swimming pool very pleasant, breakfast on the terrace very nice. You can use the bikes of the hotel go to the town. Too close to the road, ask for a room on mountain side
