A vista era incrível!
Best quality of service I have ever received at a hotel - the staff went above and beyond my expectations. Nothing!
What a delightful hotel. Pure luxury in a jungle environment. They saw to our every need including having our own valet. The staff could not be more friendly and helpful. You must eat at their restaurant, easily the best in Manuel Antonio. We highly recommend staying at Gaia.
Great facility, staff, clean and nicely decorated room, fabulous restaurant, beautiful ocean/jungle view
This place was fantastic - impeccable staff. The food is unbelievably good. We had almost everything on the menu and the deserts are insane. There's a band that plays every night - they sing in Spanish and English - everything from Tangos to Top 40 - really fun. One night, there was an incredible opera singer who performed three songs in 3 languages (I think she was staying there too)! The owners walk around to every table at breakfast and dinner to introduce themselves and see if there's anything you need - very cool. It's also designed with an eco-conscious sensibility. The owners said they are a carbon-neutral business - the oxygen produced by the rainforest on their land offsets their carbon footprint, etc. Not to mention the 1-hour long walk you can take through the rainforest on the property is wonderful. All said, we had the best time here and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be able to focus on the fun. We'll be back for sure.
We LOVED our stay at Villa Mymosa. Our unit was huge, with a kitchen with all the utensils needed to cook meals & a full-sized fridge/freezer so we could even have ice cream. The pool was the perfect temperature & with only 10 units, it was never crowded. The staff were all friendly & helpful, but our favorite was the owner's dog, Meg. So nice to have a furry head to pet when missing our own! Villa Mymosa is set a little above town, so you feel separated from the hustle of Quepos. And the monkeys! We saw tons of capuchins, partly because the owner directed us to where they would be during breakfast. How can you complain about a place that has a morning monkey travel report? Great stay, highly recommend. No complaints!
Staff by far was the best quality. The front counter employees were very helpful and very nice, and the people working in the restaurant were great too. Parking was horrible. We got there late at night and the private parking lot (which was not even in the same city block as the hotel) was full. I parked in front of the hotel and was told a private guard ar night would watch the cars. In the morning I could see evidence of somebody trying to break into my rental car. Also, apparently there was a karaoke near by that went nonstop all noght both nights we stayed there, rooms were not bery sound proof. If nightlife is your thing then this is a good hotel for you, if you want a quiet nights sleep, I suggest looking elsewhere.
Location down town Friendly staff who are eager to assist Internet is very patchy Parking is away from the hotel and very tight, resulting in my car scratched by another.
The room was huge with 2 king beds. There are 3 of us so the size was great. The people were great, as are most Costa Ricans. Beds were hard. There is no direct access to the ocean, across the street.
Beautiful hotel. Close to activities & great ocean views Beds are horrible. Old & no box springs. Seven nights was almost unbearable. Ant's in the room. Overpriced for the supposed best hotel in town.
The view is incredible, the rooms/beds are comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Falafel Bar across the street had great food too. Some of the staff were rude and came off pretentious. This is especially annoying when you're on vacation and just want to let loose. TOO MANY KIDS. They pretty much took up the entire pool, were loud and spent all day there. I didn't have a moment to enjoy it until I went after 10pm. DO NOT GO TO FRED'S next door. We stepped in for a minute to check it out and the guy immediately hollered at us from across the place that we had to spend at least $10 or we had to leave. Um bye. The Wi-Fi also went down for an entire day, for the price you pay to stay here this was unacceptable.
The location is perfect, right by the park entrance and a 2 minute walk to the beach outside of the park and restaurants/shops. The hotel is really nice, clean and amenities were great, especially the pool with the big slide which was a big hit with the kids. Breakfast was very nice too and had a wide variety of items. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. The bed was hard and sheets were awful. My daughter slept on a little bed they provided which was more of a cot with no real mattress, so quite uncomfortable. The dinner buffet had little variety although everything was really fresh.
We stayed in a deluxe room with a king bed and jacuzzi bath. It was outstanding. We could see the ocean from our balcony and the rainforest is quite literaly right next to the property. I can't say enough about how good the experience was. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else if I went back. Christian, one of the hotel's concierge staff members, was especially helpful. I went on an excursion and accidentally left my credit card back at the hotel, except I needed it for the excursion. Christian exceeded my expectations by helping with the logistics by finding a workaround to avoid what would have otherwise been a big problem. As a result, I had an amazing experience. Everything else was incredible - from the swim up bar in the pool to the roof deck. I really can't say enough about it. Everything about the property and staff consistently exceeded my expectations. I have no complaints.
The hotel is right next to the rain forest and is pretty amazing! You can see monkeys from your room. It's walking distance to the beach as well. Staff was very good as well. The hotel did not have my reservation when I checked in. But it wasn't an issue they got me checked in.
We loved staying here!! The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the staff was so, so friendly. The staff members greeted us by name and we always felt welcome. The location of the hotel is superb and so close to the beach. I would definitely stay here again! No beach view from our room, but the proximity to the beach and other key attractions more than made up for it.
Bed was nice and comfortable. Pretty good location Hotel pool was tiny, included breakfast only had 3 small options, and the entire hotel looked like it was built in the Soviet Union in 1970. Our room was in a basement-type area, with little natural light and very poor water pressure. Bad for the price!
Our family took a summer vacation to Costa Rica and great fun was had by all! We loved Byblos, as we could literally turn the kids lose on the property and they were kept entertained at the pool (staff there to watch them), up at the billiards tables (more staff), around the property with the monkeys, or any other number of tour options that were available close by. I was able to actually visit the spa two times, which is unheard of for me! The restaurant choices at Byblos worked out perfect for us. The breakfast was included each day, and the easy pizza all day/night and the snack foods at the sportsbar fed our kids easily. There were also many other options within walking distance. Definitely go to The Plane (an old Nicaraguan Contra plane), the kids loved that place, though we thought the food was only average. We highly recommend the park tour and ATVs. Our kids enjoyed both, especially the beach after the park, and swimming in the waterfall on the ATVs. So I think that about sums ...
Is ok, but have a lot noisy with discotheque in his restaurant
The property is great, the oceon view from my room was excellent, the rooms are very big and comfortable. The decoration of the rooms are pretty, the fresh flower bouquets in the hallways are beautiful. The pool and the pool area are very clean. The breakfast was also great. The two things I can suggest to this places is to have the bedding of the rooms checked for stain, the duvets had big stain in them, eventhough the room was clean it gave me the wrong impresion, also the bathroom door was black, full of stain, very bad looking, it needs a coat of paint. Everything also was perfect. The staff was wonderfull. Keep it up.
We stayed at this hotel as a quick family getaway before Easter. The kids loved the pizza place by the pool, as well as the snack foods at the Sports Bar & Grill upstairs. The hubby enjoyed the free billiards and I got to play in their small casino. It was easy walking distance for other restaurants, the kids really enjoyed the old contra airplane just down the street. Rooms were comfortable, monkeys plentiful and the staff took perfect care of us. Great time was had by all on this trip!!
I don't usually post reviews, but the staff at this hotel was so nice and I wanted people to know how great they are! It started with Melissa who took care of us at check in. Elias and Melissa gave us great advice on tours (do the canopy, sailing park and rafting#, then Andres and Davey #and another tall guy...forget the name# took great care of us at the Bistro restaurant and while we lounged around the pool #with monkeys). We had some fun nights at the sports bar, thank you Oscar for the free drinks! As you can see, everyone became like family there and we can't wait to share this with friends who will be coming to Costa Rica soon too!
We had a good time at this hotel, the staff was very friendly. Our room overlooked the pool with lots of monkeys around almost all the time. They have 2 restaurants, we liked the one by the pool, though the one by their bar was only so/so. Breakfast was included and we appreciated that each morning before going out on tours. The location was good to get to the park and beaches, there are other hotels a little closer, but for the excellent price we got we were very happy with our choice. We are considering coming back in around 6 months and we will probably stay here again if we can get the same great price, it was a pretty good value for the buck!
Hotel Byblos was the perfect pick for our needs. When we travel we like to be able to walk alot and mix with the locals and due to the central location of this hotel on the way to the park we were able to walk or bus almost anywhere in just a few minutes. Be it park, beach, bars, tapas, restaurants, spas, etc, we were always only minutes away. It was nice to see so many exotic animals go thru the hotel, such as sloth, monkeys, coati mundis, armadillos and something they called a watusa (not sure what it was, but it looked like a large hamster!). The food is very good at both the pizzeria and the sports bar up the hill, though the casino looked a lttle small (we did not go in there.) I was defintely happy to be able to watch the basketball finals on their large screen tvs, that saved the whole trip! We would return to Byblos if we ever go back to this area, we definitely fell in love with Costa Rica.
This was a great choice for our family. Everyday the kids got to swim in the pool with monkeys in the surrounding trees. We got some great photos. The food was great at the hotel, but we also liked that we could walk to other venues with the kids. Let the hotel help you with tours, we did some great activities (zipline, park, mangrove boat tour) that we would highly recommend. We didn't use the casino, so no comments there. Great value, we would definitely return!
This hotel is probably one of the coolest I have ever seen from an ecology perspective. The hotel is terraced and your surrounded by jungle, wild orchids, birds, frogs, etc. You will have to drive through a complete crap-hole town and up a mountain to get there but the views from the top are phenominal. If you stay here, eat at the restaurant by the pool at least once. You must also try the Le Chat Negro 'the black cat' restaurant, (its a 10 minute walk to the left down the hill) you can watch the iguana climb up the walls. \n\nNow, if your the adventures type drive to this hotel, you will cross three of the damn scariest bridges you have ever seen in your life but when you decide to venture out, go down the coast toward Dominical - there you will find the BEST black volcanic beaches of your life. count on 2+ hours for that.
Byblos was fantastic- perfect location, helpful staff, tons of monkeys and wildlife! Such a great deal for the price- we had a fantastic time and would definitely stay there again!
We stayed in a bungalow for 6 nights, had monkeys and sloths right outside of our balcony.was amazing. Also iguanas and Jesus Christ lizards right on the grounds. You may get woke up early from the hauling monkeys in the trees but it's a sound you will never forget. The Bungalow was very spacious with a microwave, fridge and safe. And was extremely clean, with a comfortable bed. I saw no insects in the room. The staff was very professional and made sure we had a great time. Thank you Mellisa, Carlos,Victor,Davey and the rest of the staff, We will be back for sure. Do the horseback tour,Atv tour,Mangove tour and the sunset dinner cruise while in the area, Its a great way to get out and see the beauty and wildlife of the area. The staff will set all this up for you, and a shuttle will come pick you up at the front desk. The pizza at Byblos is very good and worth having, along with the complimentary breakfast, which they give you a choice of several dishes, from fruit and cereal, to ham and c...
We originally booked a standard room for two nights. When we arrived, we were told that we were upgraded to a deluxe room for the same price. By the end of the second day, we were not yet tired of the beach and found the staff so helpful that we decided to stay an extra night. We even got to stay in the same room for the same price! The place really has it all, except an ocean view; it has nice rooms, a good restaurant, and a pool. Like most restaurants in the area, the food costs more than it seems like it should. That being said, it is easy (and cheap) to get on the bus to go to Quepos to frequent a "soda."
The staff was very friendly The rooms are quite spacious An iguana was making a neat on top of my ceiling tiles and kept me up all night. The rooms are dark - they hardly get any natural light and have very few and very dim lights. Breakfast fruit helpings were very small (literally an inch of papaya, two slices of banana, and a triangle of watermelon)
Clean, spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, plentiful breakfast. Good location close to MA park and beaches! Some other hotels in the area might be closer and/or have beach views, but Plaza Yara will be hard to beat for the price and amenities!
The room was very large. The staff was helpful and the pool was a plus.
