Proximity to the beach, which is quieter than the beach nearer the old town (separated by a road and promenade, though it doesn't look like that in the photos), spacious rooms and jacuzzi, reasonably soundproofed, swimming pool, bars nearby for drinks and ice-creams. If you're looking for the quieter side of Peñiscola then it's the perfect pace for you. Bear in mind that it's about 200/300m from Benicarlo. Check-in was fast and efficient. Hotel description:3km stroll to Peñiscola town- not true. It's at least 5km/an hours stroll- even by car it takes 15/20 mins. The quality of the food was certainly not 4*, hardly even 3*. The breakfast was pretty awful (almost undrinkable coffee & fake, overly sweet juices). The dining room was really crowded at ALL times, and queues were the norm to get in & to get any food which made the dining experience a bit of an ordeal. I'd recommend eating in one of the many local restaurants which are great value. The spa was extra, kids not allowed either. The room we had was at the end of a 300m corridor...not for the old or infirm. Why do we have to pay for parking?a bit of a rip off!
Very nice town for sightseeing or just lying on the beach or sitting at the pool.
Very good location - just near the see, possibility to swim in the see and warm up near the swimming pool, and very good tradition to offer cava during breakfasts...
The food was awful, and much of it was inedible. Guests were moved through hotel and restaurant like cattle. Pool was only open for kids 1 hr/d despite being empty.
Hotel and food were both excellent. Close to the beach and shops Yes the constant shouting down the microphone by the entertainers all day and evening. The music that was also played during the day was like Chineese torture!!!
1. Facilities are reasonable 2. Food is OK - well managed buffet but you can see it is prepared to a budget. 3. If your British and like bacon, don't go there with big expectations. 4. Staff were helpful and but working seemlessly. 1. Having to queue for 45 minutes to check in, must improve check in procedure. 2. Paying for car parking, but no spare space & lack of road to park in near the hotel -> no mention of this in their web page. 3. Hotel is surrounded by building under construction, looks like a building site! 4. Children under 12 years can not use the indoor pool in the SPA.
The location and the in house facilities and entertainment. See note in No 1
Nice, quiet location. Fine swimming pool
Great location As a shade under a 6 footer, the bed in our room was short. The restaurant was most disappointing.
Very poor. Bitterly cold dinning rooming as no heating was on. Reform work meant dusty room and price was far to high for what was provided. Our special requests were not read. We cancelled our return booking for 13 Dec and reserved another hotel. They tried to charge extra for drinks that were advised as included.
The location. Right on the beach, looking over the Mediterranean, close enough to Peniscola to walk in for a meal. Wifi worked, but they have a rather strange system of cards. The fact that you need to get a card to use the wifi was a little strange. The rugs on the polished tile floors were very slippery, I ended up just pushing them into a corner.
Nicely decorated, good breakfast (especially for European standards). Could have been cleaner (hairs on sheets), beds as hard as concrete. Staff was efficient but definitely not overfriendly, except the lady that checked us out.
The position of the hotel was perfect A very nice hotel but what a disappointment when the the reception was very off hand. In the dining room it was the same. The food was nice but served cold and the head waiter was almost rude, not only to ourselves it was with everyone.
Very nice hotel, well situated and has alot of Spanish character. We booked through Booking.Com for Half Board. Be careful if you order from the A La Carte menu as you do not get a deduction from your Half Board, i.e. you pay twice for dinner !!! Recommend booking Bed & Breakfast only, then you can choose where you eat as there are many excellent local restaurants and you will only pay once for dinner....
Tranquil. Well maintained and interesting historical surroundings. Comfortable well-appointed bedroom. Secure parking with easy access. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast. Splendid location. No food available in the evening before dining room opened at 20.30
a traditional hotel with old-fashioned service, very comfortable and well run.
location, next to the beach and only 15 minutes walk to the castle. Facilities very good and exellent breakfast.
Beachside location close to centre of peniscola Internal building work in progress with unpleasant drainage smells and noise. Heating system inadequate.. resort very quiet with many restaurants closed
We had a good room with a large balcony on the top floor. The hotel is in a quiet position, but is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach and the old town. Good buffet breakfast. Parking in the hotel car park is limited, but it is free, and we always got a space.
good value for money, free internet and parking, good breakfast, close from beach
the desert table!!! Fabulous home made goodies!meals good too. very friendly service, family run hotel. would stay here again. car park very small but were able to park just outside on the street.
We were made very welcome by the proprietress. The food, buffet meals, was well prepared and presented. There was a wide choice, and overeating would have been easy. There is a good wine selection. We had twin beds which, for me, were rather narrow. I am used to sleeping in a kingsize bed.
Great location, nice clean rooms with small kitchenette, great pools, lovely solarium, helpful staff, excellent buffet breakfast
great room,4 pools, and amazing buffet breakfast. on site parking expensive, but street parking available
The hotel was clean, basic conditions They charged me 8 Euro to open a room safe which was already locked when I arrived in the room.only advised about this when checking out. There are very few cooking utensils, not enough to cook a meal
Very nice facilities including big bed, great shower/bath and some basic cooking facilities (although low on cooking equipment). Very nice breakfast. Although we didn't use them the 2 pool areas looked very nice. On arrival there was no-one at the desk and after looking around for someone it turned out that the person watching TV in one corner of the lobby served us. There was no bell at the front desk to call someone.
The accomadations were excellent for the price the location was a llittle out of the way (far from the beach)
Very nice hotel.
new renovated hotel with extremly big rooms, big terrace, big televison, kitchen, very big double bed, swimmingpool, garage, for a really good price!!! breakfast is very simple
The room was clean and quite spacious, in fact, it was an apartment with a small kitchen, dining table and sofa separeted from the bedroom (bedroom was bigger than most of the 4*hotel rooms I've recently seen). The beds were comfortable and big enough. I liked the character and style of this hotel. The lady at reception was not very nice and had quite poor english. I didn't like the fee (10 EUR) for parking in the hotel.
Hotel is located in very nice place on the sea with wiev to the old tower. There I felt very comfortably.. There it was quite cool when it was rainy day...there was not warm heater in the room
The possibility of taking my dog. The room I was given was over the discoteca and, although most of the other guests were OAPs, there was a lot of noise (dancing, etc.) until very late. I had decided to break my journey in Peñiscola and was hoping to have a good long sleep, but it wasn't possible.
location, town in general
Location only It smelled terrible. Mirror broken in room. Old and worn down. A lot of money for lack of quality which was very different from other rooms we booked with you.
Location Did not offer Free WiFi internet service
Super ruidoso, super viejo "de cuentame" y la ventana de los baños da al pasillo
The location of the hotel
Position in Resort, Helpfulness of Reception Staff
Beautiful place, good menu.
Hotel stuff kindly prepared a good room with nice view. People working at hotel were extremely nice! Hotel itself was very old and non-modern style with non-nice exterior or interior appearance. The hotel did not provide any luxuary feeling. The hotel looked one of the worst comparing to other hotels in the same area. However the hotel price was really high.
good service frendly helpful staff
Friendly staff and good location close to the old town.
Access to main beach, local services and promenade areas, Half board food was a disaster with very poor offering from Hotel menu, first night we withdrew from having to choose half board and opted for B&B menu only.In fairness the Hotel staff were very accommodating to us and were of great help.....
Fantastic views of the castle and ocean.. Location a 10 The shower was missing part of the door so water would get all over the floor.. Overall we definitely enjoyed our stay!
comfortable room balcony over looking the main promenade and the castle near al the ammenities If you goon a fiesta as we did then it will be noisy but if you enjoy a party then centrally placed for the action
A fantastic hotel, staff were really helpful and very friendly. Breakfast had a wide selection. So good in fact that we stayed another two nights. Highly recommended Brilliant location. Would have been improved if they had had free WiFi but lack of was only a minor inconvenience as the library behind the hotel had 24 hour free wifi....
Lovely staff, clean room, stunning views over the bay and the castle from my balcony. I can't criticise this hotel at all. I stayed for 5 nights and would certainly stay there again. I loved it. If you need a comfortable base in Peniscola I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, which has also proved to be safe for a lone female traveller!
The staff were excellent, breakfast was more than adequate. We had one noisy night which we reported to the management who appeared to be concerned.
The nice view on the sea.
Room looks like it has just been refurbished, so was really clean. Tried with 2 different codes from hotel staff, but couldn't connect to free wifi
The hotel is a few minutes walk from the beach. There's a restaurant downstairs, but it's also close to lots of waterfront restaurants and bars. The air conditioning is centrally controlled. Parking is quite a walk and you have to pay.
Continental breakfast buffet was ok. 5 minutes walk away from the beach. A lot of restaurants around. Free public parking near the hotel. Stuff speak no english. I got a spoilt milk.
