Vauhotel

Generally we enjoyed the whole experience with few exceptions, the hotel was very clean and well organised.Reception and public areas were small being a budget four star, but was more than compensated by the room sizes and room facilities, all in very good condition including the dishwasher. Though not situated right on a beach, 5 minutes walk away, it was very convenient to both Alvor and Praia Do Rocha being just a 4 Euro taxi ride away.

If I had to highlight one area of dissatisfaction about the hotel it would be the perceived indifference of some of the evening desk staff to guest requests. I felt on occasion it was disturbing for them to be taken away from 'twitter' or whatever they were at on the desk PC monitor. On my one visit to the hotel bar, which was empty at the time, we had to wait until the barman had finished his session watching the TV. Now maybe this perceived indifference is a Portuguese thing, but as I mentioned above, 'if I had to highlight one area of dissatisfaction' this would be it. It is also fair to say that the day staff were extremely friendly including the young ladies I met as I checked in.

Comfortable room with settee. Well equipped kitchenette. Good sized balcony with furniture.

Buffet breakfast is more than adequate but definitely not four star.

Hotel Staff, location and food! Too pricey for what was actually available at the Hotel.

Covenient to beach, praira da rocha and alvor were in reasonable taxi distance for night life and restaurants and relaxed environment in the hotel itself.

The staff we excellent and we got in our room early which was a plus side.

We expected this hotel to be a little bit more central but it was out of the way a little bit and you needed a car to drive to restaurants etc.

quiet surrounding, good parking facilities

complaint about the music at breakfast. Far to loud, bad choice. Temperature inside hotel and rooms, much to high. Air conditioning not working properly.
