Staff were helpful and welcoming. The position of the hotel is excellent, very central. Rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent value for money.
the excellent service, welcome and breakfast
Good location at heart of town, and convenient for visiting the Garden Route. Good breakfasts. Friendly staff. Extremely cold bedroom, made worse by the sash window being ill fitting and the glass on the brink of falling out of the window frame. No action taken to get a joiner to fix it despite it being in dangerous condition. Owner seemed unconcerned at danger of injury to clients. Lack of razor power points in bedrooms/bathrooms.
The hotel was good, the town of George isn't somewhere where I would stay again - it's not really for leisure travel.
Great room Freindl staff
We had a nice and perfect stay.friendly people, lovely room, charming atmosphere, good value for money, very clean. more than i expected thank you!!
Friendly, helpful staff.
We stayed at Acorn for 1 night. The room and facilities were comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful.
Very neat, quiet, peacefull place. Some things in the room was not working.
Location, room size, outlook Disappointing carvery dinner - expensive and not particularly appetising.
The breakfast.the swimming pool. Bathroom.dinner.food for room service.
It was well situated for what i needed. Also the rooms were nice and spacious. I found the breakfast to be very expensive R135 for a fried egg and a cup of coffee!! Also the fact that there is no internet availability in the room is a bit of an inconvenience.
Location was great and staff were friendly and helpful Lots! It is not a 4 star hotel as advertised by any means. Breakfast was fine but do not eat in the restaurant in the evening as the food is inedible. No lifts so a porter is essential.
Comfortable I was not given a room golf course facing.Although I had proof of booking there was some confusion regarding my booking.I Was given a suite over looking thr front of the hotel.
Big, comfortable room with balcony overlooking golf course. Hotel was just off the main road and well sign-posted. Good selection of food for breakfast with special selection for children. Buffet-style evening meal was also good and reasonably priced for a hotel.
The room we stayed in as a family was very spacious. Which made it very comfortable for my toddler to walk around and enjoy the space. I also liked the seperate tv/lounge area. It was an amazing time staying at the hotel and will definitely stay at the Protea Hotel King George again.
the peace and quiet and relaxing atmosphere no
The atmosphere was very relaxing, with a strong friendly feeling. We felt very much at home the moment we arrived. We felt that the room we were in, 156 although comfortable, could have done with refurbishment.. The shower was particularly bad. Bathroom needed up-dating.
Although the comfort of the rooms were good, the linen on the single beds are small and do not tuck in properly. The breakfast buffet is always good and the toasted chicken mayo of room service. The location of the TV - should rather be on tv shelf higher up on the wall. The flooring/carpets could be upgraded
Hotel old and very dated - could do with some a refresh! Rooms were dated and dark!
Efficiency & friendlyness of personell. Facilities offered.
Its a total relaxing atmosphere and I will keep going back. Definatelly recommend it.
This hotel was like staying in a coach station and it smelled of damp. Sadly, it must have been lovely in its day but now it is not. The evening meal was virtually inedible, however the omelette in the morning was pretty good - too bad we queued so long to get it that someone else took over our table and our tea was cleared.
The hotel is ideally and conveniently situated relative to the shopping and dining spots. It is just about the right distance from the busy highway but close enough to the beach. We loved the hotel's dining facilities and the staff were fantastic. The bathroom could do with a bit of a facelift, the wooden railing on the balcony is a safety hazard and the room was smelly from the previous occupants' smoking!!
The feel, location and price The staff at the reception could not get the computer to work properly, - lovely, friendly people but need training
Quite, clean ,neat, central, good looking not anything we can think of!
left alone but always somebody on hand to help or to attend to a request.
Although we had problems with a broken windon in our room at the outset, Udi the owner put it right personally. He moved us to a much larger unit at no extra expense. We had a family celebration at the wonderful restuarant and everyone commented on the prompt service and excellent food. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner here and we would recommend the Alpine Inn unreservedly.
good breakfasts-great coffee we booked under the impression that there was an attached restaurant-there was but it was shut,+there were no others in the nearby vicinity.
Great ambience, excellent manager always on hand, very friendly and helpful. Also lovely garden.
Only overnighted on business so didnt utilise much. Room was very good, and the restaurant food was excellent. Very nice setting
Very comfortable and ideal for business trip in George. Central for Garden Route. Excellent value for money
Location..........city centre Given good security, I.E. exterior lighting, curtains totally inadequate. like sleeping with lights on in room
Congratulations on installing internet services. That was really handy. And its free. That is an international standard. The breakfast is not what I expected. Even at low budget more care can be taken in preparing a tastefull meal. I last had an omelette like this at a small airport in Sudan.
A good hotel, location excellent, layout of rooms not the best
Friendly & helpful staff and close to the centre of George
the staff was cooperative there was not much information / help avaialbe for tourism
Closeness to my business meeting. Very friendly service. The bed was hard
Hotel very comfortable, clean and friendly. Nothing was lacking. Rooms very well equiped. Beautiful views and relaxed atmosphere.
I enjoyed the setting -surrounded by gardens. The room we had looked out onto the gardens & mountains in the distance. The gardens of the hotel were beautiful. Also, the food and service was excellent. I would definately return this hotel again. no.
The food at the hotel was excellent. The rooms are really comfortable and cosy. We were there for 6 days - my husband played golf alot and I found enough to do nearby to keep me busy, Mall shopping, beach, restaurants and craft markets. no
not a lot poor reception , information, dinner menu not compatible with 4star hotel no hotel info. in room
The Japanese restaurant - excellent food and a truly professional chef. The view from the terrace. Air conditioner kept leaking water onto the carpet, I finally had to switch it off. No floor mat in the bathroom.
The Central location of the Hotel, close to most places of interest The Hotel Staff, were not that friendly, and the food could be better, I would not say that it was a 4 star experience. Hotel was not baby friendly either, felt uncomfortable.
The hotel is set in beautiful setting with stunning views, has lovelly landscaped gardens and the hotel staff are very friendly, courteous and very helpful, which all went to making the stay a memorable one. No
the rooms were comfortable and clean. the view over the hills from our room was beautiful and tranquil our only complaint is that there were no porters to help with our luggage. we had to battle with our suitcases along rather uneven brick paths.
The hotel has the most stunning views over the valley and mountains, and the food was fresh and good. The room was spacious. The staff seemed aloof and not approachable, and although the rooms were very clean, it seemed old and in need of loving care.
