Good facilities, clean and comfortable, good value. Could not alter heating in room as control appeared to be fixed; it was so hot it gave me a sore throat. I opened window but then had 24hr noise from railway station, although this was not a problem as managed to sleep through. Hotel situated in a very large business park/area with building work ongoing; got lost a couple of times. No signposts showing hotels.
Modern hotel, rooms small, bed not comfortable, staff pleasant, good breakfast. OK for 1 or 2 nights
Location was excellent for our needs as it was a 2 minute walk from the train station. Very clean and modern hotel with friendly staff. Stayed in a twin room and the mattresses were very hard which did not allow for a very comfortable sleep.
It was convenient for the train station and the Pride Park Football Ground and had all the essentials for a short break. The view from the room was of waste ground. We didn't get many towels (one hand and one bath towel for two people).
Excellent clean facilities. Good in room entertainment. None
The rooms were very good modern and of a high standerd of finish. good that free onsite parking was available.
This is a new and smart hotel with a cheerful and enthusiastic reception staff. It is very convenient to the city centre and very close to the station. There is a generous car parking area and the access from the a52 and the city are very easy. Some of the room facilities were basic - no bath - no hook to hang a towel or coat in the ensuite. Tap on the basin did not overlap the basin fully so tended to spread water over the adjacent surface. Early morning noise from the trains marshalled overnight in the adjacent sidings (motors started at 0500hrs)might disturb a very light sleeper.
Clean and tidy.Dinner in the restuarant was good
The room was really nice and clean. The location so close to Pride Park was great as the reason for the nights stay was to tie in with the game.
Well appointed funky hotel and room with everything needed for an overnight stay. Breakfast good Staff friendly and helpful Outlook a bit grim at the moment as building work in grounds continues
Ease of check in and out.
Good staff Parking arrangements did not have a rear entry so a walk up a steep slope was required
Restaurant was excellent value for money with polite and cheerful staff
Large bath towels Small room, noisy, tatty furniture, lightbulbs not working, no TV remote, cigarette burn in duvet, winter duvet in summer................
room was small no bath and why no towels ?
An extremely clean and comfortable hotel with friendly and welcoming staff. we felt that we got veryy good value.
The hotel was easily found and was warm and friendly the services offered were very good and the standard iof housekeeping were very good, night porter was very helpful on leaving Nothing found to need improvement.
Friendly staff, clean rooms
Good location with car park. Clean and comfortable room Nothing
The stairs were very dirty, they had obviously not been cleaned for several days.
Nothing Shower did not work. In room Broadband was NA.
only the breakfast was ok. our booking was messed up (someone couldn't read instructions from web booking). we did not get the correct rooms (one bed short) and one room stank of smoke.
Very plesant nice staff good hotel , will stay again
The hotel rooms are clean, hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast is great. Some of the hotel rooms are still being renovated so they aren't all of the same standard.
nice and quiet the night reception had a terrible attitude problem
The only black mark against the expereince was the lady receptionist who was on duty upon arrival - she was rude, uninformative about parking arrangements and unprofessional. Also, the car parking arrangements need to be more clearly set out on arrival and / or on their website.
No free parking
All staff we met: reception, bar and cleaning, were very helpful and polite. None.
good bar & restaurant. very central, rooms clean & well furnished the lack of parking is very poor as the underground carpark is closed. there is no drop off parking to allow you to unload cases so you need to drive to the local carpark & struggle back with cases & children
Great location, near to the city centre. Hotel was comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. No parking facilities at the hotel. (We used Chapel Street Car Park, a short walk away, across the ring road).
New hotel in good location to amenities
Very clean, with professional, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere, and nice new place. Room had nice full length windows, and was very comfortable. Bar was expensive, but was very relaxing.
The staff were very helpful when I raised the concern below. Other reports on the web site do not mention that the hotel is right next to the Inner Ring Road in Derby. Rather more than half the rooms directly overlook the dual carriageway, so I would suggest that anyone who has difficulty with traffic noise either go elsewhere or ensure that you get a room on the other side of the hotel. I was given a lovely room overlooking the Ring Road, which was quiet late on Sunday when I arrived. After being awoken at 5am by traffic, I asked the staff if I could have a room on the back of the hotel. I was given one without any problem and was happy with the other two nights of my stay. I would also strongly recommend that anyone with a car park it first, then walk 100m to the hotel.
everything was great, staff, room, food, price no complaints
Good modern hotel, friendly staff. Well located near cathedral.
Good location, very convenient for both the city centre and the park. And the midday check out is very welcome. Being on an island in the middle of Derby's ring road means that it's a bit tricky to drive up to the door, or to turn around if you overshoot. Not a huge problem though, and nothing to put me off booking again.
We often stay at B & B's with typically huge rather greasy breakfasts. It was nice to be able to choose our own breakfast at your hotel. Re. breakfast. These days when we are told to eat 5 X fruit/veg a day, but the only fresh fruit there were apples. This is summer and there is plenty of good fruit available.
location very good. comfortable room.lovely shower!! friendly staff. let us check in early as room ready.definately will be back. pride pk 5 min walk
Location convenient, room was fine and breakfast ok.
good value for money hotel.would stay again.
The hotel had good facilities, was new and the rooms were comfortable and well laid out The breakfast was middling
near to the football ground poor choice of lighting in the room
Clean bright hotel, friendly helpful staff, close to event being visited Drink prices in the bar were too dear.
Seemed to be brand new
Cleanliness of the room was great, a substantial complimentary breakfast was great Bar drinks are a tad pricey
The hotel was comfortable, clean and the breakfast was good. Although it is a budget hotel, in the same bracket as premier inn I would prefer to stay at the premier in as the standards and comfort are higher.
very comfortable, friendly environment, from which to enjoy the onward journey refreshed and rested.
Extremely comfortable bed and close proximity to the airport very expensive drinks
It was convenient to the airport Nothing
Only stayed a few hours due to late flight so really can't comment
nothing it was dierty !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Distance to event at Donington Race Circuit Pool was closed, which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel
Ideak location for airport
Close to the airport The price was extortion.
atmosphere kids running up and down hallway at 4-30am
This was a comfortable relaxed stop off overnight before a flight. I had a small hot snack in the bar at 1000pm which was welcome but I would have wished the standard of the fish cake to be a bit higher.
The hotel is very nice, clean, quiet, one of the best spots of Derby.
Fantastic new hotel, quiet and tasteful room, comfortable bed, clean, close to city centre, excellent breakfast, friendly staff. The only downside was lack of parking. There is a private car park 100 metres away, but this is pretty expensive. Information at the time of booking had suggested on-site parking so this was unexpected.
rooms are very comfortable. staff are lovely. the room service took forever and wasn't great quality for 2 sandwiches
This was my third visit to this hotel and I can't speak highly enough of the service, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the high standard of the facilities. Excellent value for money, highly recommended. Unfortunately the hotel does not have its own car park and although there is a nearby public car park, it was closed for refurbishment during this visit.
Terrible Sound Insulation - can hear every creaky floorboard in adjoining room and downstairs Disco to 12 midnight
Very clean & comfortable. Staff very helpful Small room. Though I could have been o0ffered a better room considering the hotel was not full. The room was very small
The hotel was great. Position was ideal. The rooms were really comfortable albeit a little small. We stayed in a Junior Double so perhaps the other rooms are bigger. The service in the lounge area and cocktail bar were good. The breakfast was included in our room rate so was great value not so good if you have to pay £15 per person. Would highly recommend especially for business travellers.
Beautiful Hotel - inviting entrance and reception area - magnificent staircase - a real wow factor. Perfect location - 2 minutes awayd from shoping, bars & restaurants. Staff really helpful - would stay here quite happily again. Cocktail bar in reception area which we didn't use as the door to the cocktail bar was closed so didn't feel inviting. Rooms are beautiful but dark and TV is in an awkward place.
I booked at very short notice and everything was ready and a thoroughly comfortable stay, no hassle good staff. Desk a little cramped for working but I only booked a single room.
The location It was a busy weekend and arriving in the entrance to the hotel fighting our way through the wedding party who were blocking the entrance was difficult.
Very pleasent building quite, rooms were very clean and adequate for overnight stop. Booked a double room but was given a single! Changed with no fuss but double bed a bit small for 2 people, hence spent most of the night not trying to fall out rather than sleeping.
Clean, crisp, exactly what it says on the tin, no frills good value, would definitely stay there again.
Was contacted just before my stay to confirm the booking and was offered packed lunches for the event I was attending. Was made to feel very welcome upon arrival and at all stages during my stay. Nice room, compact but well laid out and with good facilities. Lovely building and grounds. Secure parking. Great breakfast. Packed lunch was lovely and the supporting information on the event I was attending was very welcome. No bad points as such, if I was picky I'd have liked a more powerful shower but that's being really picky!
My single room was of the quality I expected (upon arrival), for the price paid. The advertised freeview TV was unobtainable, however, I did not raise the issue with reception, due to a meeting elswhere on the evening of my stay. When preparing to leave my room, I noticed stains and damage to both pillow cases.(Unacceptable at any accommodation). The public areas were in dire need of refurbishment. The hotel bar was of a standard similar to hostel accommodation, with damaged light fittings, delapidated shelving and a filthy carpet running fully through the lounge area.
Perfect for a Business stay. Good value for money. The staff can't do enough for you. Mattress wasnt great
the location was easy to find and easy to get to Derby city centre..It was my second stay and I will be returning. liked it all
Staff friendly & clean well equipted room no complaints
Cheap (Double)room too small
Good location, friendly staff, clean, beautiful building Double bed was extremely small, no frigde in the room
A very Interesting & Unique Environment There was a conference for delegates happening at the time of my visit and a few of them were stood at the front doors smoking (dont have a problem with this!) and were spitting, which I do have a problem with!
Pool area was superb Nothing
Very little. Reception, pool reception and restaurant recpetion were untidy and a mess of bits of paper. Pool chaging area was littered with janitor's equipment and materials. £144 for a dbl bed boxroom is ridiculous. That this is a 4* hotel is incredible.
Generally a nice hotel with a good atmosphere and facilities French Onion Soup
Staff were very helpful. I requested if we could just have soup in the restaurant at lunch time when they were setting up for the evening and we were able to, which was nicer than sitting in the open area.
The meals at this hotel were excellent Our room had a night storage heater and was very cold. We had to request an extra heater which they promptly brought to our room. During the night we could hear every 2 mins. a fan going off from one of the balconies outside so didn't get any sleep. We therefore curtailed our stay to only one night
The rooms are comfortable with nice furnishings. Excellent breakfast and restaurant.
The rooms are comfortable and well kept.
The dinner at the hotel was excellent and the wait staff were more than accommodating – they helped make the evening very enjoyable. Really nothing to complain about. It is a very nice hotel and provided us with a great base.
good location for the family visit the bed was too hard!
The food was outstanding, the pool and jacuzzi relaxing and staff could not do enough for you, and with a genuine smile always.
Staff helpful and nice but without the forced effect ypu get through training to be nice if you get my meaning. Food excellent. Plus best coffee I've had in a long while came from the barman. Dark room at night Bit pushy on buying bottles of wine with evening meal. Cold shower curtain envelopes you
Bar prices and quite exorbitant charge for breakfast which we chose not to have.
The hotel was ideally situated close to the railway station for the purpose of my visit and for someone who had never been in Derby before.
although discounted room rate breakfast was really expensive - 11-50 for continental!
Location All satisfactory
The central location and ease of getting to where I wanted to go.
excellent and helpful staff no
The room was very quiet and comfortable and the staff extremely friendly.
The Hotel was beautiful, clean and modern and I would recommend a stay here to anyone Nothing
The Food and Hotel staff, nothing was too much trouble it made the weekend n/a
friendly staff no
Bar and resaurant on site.Quiet clean rooms and location.
Really friendly staff breakfast really good value
Staff were very attentive and extremely welcoming Nothing - All good
The goood thing with Premier Inns you know that you are going to get good service and you know what to expect in their hotels. I like staying at Premier Inns Nothing
Th checking in was excellent, both for speed and information. The room was adequate and probably just about value fro money. The first room that we were offered (room 2) smelt distinctively of smoke and, being non-smokers, we complained. The 2nd room was ok.
Felt more like a hotel than a lodge. 3-star standard, spacious rooms, good location No
It was the best Premier Inn I have stayed and I stay in a lot of Premier Inns The food was very god and the staff were excellent, they could not have been more helpful and all with a smile on their faces.
Evening out with friends Would not change a thing
The room was clean and tidy No storage for clothes, so had to live out of bag. The tv was mistuned and only had an indoor aerial. Could not get internet to work.
the stafff is very nice and friendly, the hotel is very nice as well. It's a very clean hotel, I may go back to there next time when I need. The toilet is very clean, and the shower room is very clean. Everything there makes me satified and comfortable. It's very worth staying there.
It was close to the main city They did not want me to use my credit card, but cash was better? then they gave me a non headed receipt. Oh also they also wanted £10 deposit for the key, and in the morning there was nobody to give the deposit back. Got my £10 back in the end. Its a over priced hostel but clean.
Hostel staff very nice and helpful poor internet connection
Kitchen equipment desoite lack of cooker No hot water. No cupboards in room. Inadequate towel size. Filth and dust under beds. The taps barely ran water - no water pressure, clearly plumbing requires attention.
Price No lockers in the shower room.
Rooms and decor with character and style. Not bland and anonymous. Bar downstairs (but not at all noisy). Tricky to get shower at correct temperature. No remote control for tv.
the friendlyness of the hotel staff was great the shower was no good could not regulate the tempretureand the room was cold
The hotel is conviently located for Derby.. taxis ride away from entertainment The shower was very hard to control was either boiling hot or freezing cold
staff were quite helpful I felt that is needed to be better maintained e.g. the door handle to my room fell off!
The design of the room. The bathroom was nice and modern
I have stayed at this hotel before, regularly, though not recently. I was pleased to find that it retains the reasons which attracted me to it, and has developed facilities steadily in the meantime. Water pressure in the shower remains low - hopefully overhaul is in the medium term action plan.
Clean room & linen, huge 4-poster bed and friendly helpful staff. No radiator in bathroom. Not good in February.
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was worth the £6 per person supplement. Bathroom too small as was the tv.
Good location. Good room. Nice pub attached. Decor was dated. Room plumbing noisy. Radiator leaked onto the carpet. Staff entered the room without knocking first.
Character and friendly
A lovely relaxing family run hotel. I needed an early breakfast due to business and they were very obliging. The attached Bubble Inn is also excellent with a superb menu.
Every so often you come across a Gem ! this is certainly one, there is nothing to fault. Natasha is an excellent host has pride and total care for her property. Staying in 60 + hotel per year in the UK, this is up in the top 3 . If you get the opportunity give it a go, I imagine that in the summer this must be an amazing place to stay. thankyou. Trying to get into the hotel front door ! ..
Excellent disabld facilites. Very friendly and most helpful staff. More than ample food! Not sure if it is an hotel side problem but the dining was very good but with an inadequre wine list to complement the otherwise very good food.
Immaculate, clean and luxurious. Management extremely helpful and much thought has gone into the facilities in the room. Restaurant and bar had a comfortable atmosphere and the menu although we did not eat there looked excellent at very reasonable prices. Will definitely visit again.
The room was very tastefully designed. The bathroom was very nice! Good value for money. Bathroom doors should be 100% frosted! We were not advised adequately about the underflor heating, and the need to turn the temperature up gradually as the pipes really do hold the heat!
Lots of room in the room itself, clean, no hastle to leave, informal No door handle?
Staff politeness. Food quality. Comfortable. A little noisy.
Breakfast Lack of ventilation, unable to contraol temperature of room. Traffic noise. Broken tv. Room not serviced between nights. Contractors wearing dirty overalls using breakfast room.
The staff were very helpful, especially as i had 2 children with me.The hotel was also in a good location for my needs. There was no real play area for the kids.
the family room we stayed in was comfotable and the meals were excellent value
Staff were friendly & competent. The room was spotless & the breakfast was goo. Very noisy. I could hear people in the adjacent rooms quite clearly even when they were speaking normally. Sound proofing would be good.
The bed was lovely.
The whole of my hotel room was amazing the £8 extra I spent was well worth it. It was quiet clean and the best of all my bed was amazing.
Cleanliness; Excellent staff member in restaurant for breakfast & she was busy. Location, alot of people hanging around outside
Location was ideal for the visit to the National Memorial Arboretum which was the reasopn for our visit. Also good bus link into Derby City Centre. Having a restaraunt next to hotel was very good. We were in a double room but there was only one armchair!
Clean, comfortable, functional and well equipped rooms. No toilet brush in the toilet!
Couldn't sleep well due to repeated Fire Alarming. Also, no announcement was made.
It was ideal for us as it was opposite the hospital where my 1st grandchild was neing born!!!!!
location was close to hospital where we had an appointment the next morning breakfast not available until 7am
Very convenient for business at Royal Derby City Hospital Essence of smoking in the room I was given
The staff was helpful and it was vvery near to the hopital where I had an appointment
Went to Atton Towers, enjoyed relaxing in the quite envirornment. Was fine, staff very helpful. But I think you should put times for breakfast on your room leaflets. I was told breakfast stops at 10 am, only to go in on Monday and to be told breakfast stopped at 9 am. Just put the information on the leaflets and that will serve the reliance on the rception staff to remember every time.
i reported a left item, nobody bothered to call back and item has not been returned and no contact made. very poor.
Welcoming and attentive staff who explained facilities. Comfortable bed, well furnished good-sized bedroom and en-suite. Good soundproofing, unaware of noise from neighbouring rooms plus surprisingly little traffic noise from nearby hospital and main roads.
this was a very nice hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms were lovly and warm, only thing wrong was hot water in sink tap was boiling! stick with the shower that was perfect. Recomend the food, very nice and if you want a less expensive meal i can recomend the calvery for only around £4. Great,, plan to stay again.well done.
My room was excellent. Large. clean and very well laid out with a setee and coffee table to relax comfortably and watch TV. Bathroom was very good and very clean. The area has some beautiful scenery and The Donnington Park Farmhouse is a great place to stay and enjoy travelling around the local villages and pubs. I will be staying there again when I'm next in the area.
