good location close to motorway
Good service and big room Smoking smell for a non-smoking room. Very disturbing
It's interior is rather old and in need of refurbishment. During breakfast the staff was already removing the breakfast and we had to ask several times to bring us some coffee and bread.
Staff at reception very helpfull, rooms comfortable, The menu in the dining room could have been a bit more interesting, not a lot to choose from. The bar should have some one there all the time, really not very good. The person that did serve was very unfriendly, not a good person to be dealing with the public,
restaurant prices far too high. 13.90 eur for a curry consisting of 4 small pieces of chicken, a tablespoon of curry sauce and a lump of rice
The room was excellent: large enough and extremely clean. The safe had a problem and could not be used.
breakfast buffet + free wifi diner
The rooms were very big and the bathroom were very nice. The parking was save and oposite the hotel was a petrol station. The service was good, too. It was a bit strange that fthe toilett and the bathroom were in two room. Some hairs of the guest before in the bathroom and some stains of glases on the badside table.
Room stank of smoke
The restaurant next door was excellent,I believe it was owned by the hotel which was unbelieveable as the Hotel was so poor. The Hotel was badly in need of a coat of paint,in fact a complete reform would be in order.
Hotel staff are kind and service-oriented. They tried to help me with a problem I had with the rental car, even if they were not obliged to. Reception is unattended (and door closed) when you arrive late. It would be good that this is indicated in your reservation confirmation, so that guests know is better to call the hotel when you expect late check-in.
Lcation excellent for centre and restaurants. Secure car parking. Family room large if a little tired, but then it is an old city centre building and not a 5*.
This hotel is in the old part of Valence and it was lovely being able to wander the streets. The hotel was good and had a very, very popular restaurant attached to it with great food and staff.
a good clean hotel no
very friendly and helpfull staff
Very efficient & helpful English speaking reception lady. Comfortable bed. Clean. Quiet. Good location for train station and town centre. We also liked the old fashioned nature of the place, but that suited us old fashioned people! We did not try the breakfast because we left early in the morning. Would definitely consider if in Valence again. Please note the author info is not quite correct, it should say booked one double and one single room. We didn't find anything, but could envisage it would not suit the seeker of the "boutique luxury/4or 5 star" style of hotel.
I has late for check in and reception waited for me for 2 hours and was so friendly when I arrived. She even helped me to park my car outside, taken care of me in a wondeful way. I have never received this treatment before.
Safe parking place. Needs some updating.
It was in a central position. It has a useful carpark nearby. The area was quiet. The bathroom was quite big and the water pleasantly hot The carpet was a bit old and blinds could not be opened to get fresh air.on the wall the room looked a bit old.
The dinner is excellent and the 3 stars worth. Staff is very kind and immaculate. Room is excellent. no
A most beautiful, stylish and comfortable hotel. Suberb service and wonderful food. One of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in.
Maison Pic is on a rather drab street in Valence. Our room was large, bathroom was lovely. Prices were more than a grand hotel in London I would put it in the same class as Hotel de Ville group in the UK except the prices were obscene. 20euros for a bottle of still water from the mini bar. I found the restaurant overloaded with staff flitting here and there. Food was good but for a plate of lamb at 90euros it should have been amazing and it wasn't.I would not rate this hotel above average but with a totally exaggerated idea of its own importance. It is not in the same league as Le Manoir which serves much better food has more beautiful rooms and is considerably cheaper. Too many staff in the dining room. Food in my opinion was over salted. They did sya Anna Sophie was not on duty so perhap that is the reason. We found dining there not an experience we would care to repeat, it is all too articial and they seem wrapped up in their own importance.
Location and easy access. Also having a restaurant nearby is a plus.
Near the highway. Good restaurant. Nice swimming pool.
The room was quite comfortable. An early breakfast was provided for a cycling group; when we asked could breakfast be provided for us we were told no. Given that there were a number of cycling groups (small and large) it would have made good business sense to accommodate all parties. Was disappointed that we were not given an option for breakfast - the satff very not very helpful during our stay.
Room was quite comfortable and hotel situation is perfect for travellers; 2 minutes away from highway. Wifi is free but quite poor.
The cleanliness of the hotel, the free parking and WIFI.
the hours of the pool
Near train station. Lift was not working and room was on 4th floor. The hotel staff was kind to carry all luggage up.
The hotel is next to several bars and restos. The parking is underground at the train station round the corner and is very secure. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Try the couscous resto up a side street opposite the station - very filling and good value.
The bed was very small and room was not much bigger. Overall, hotel needs a complete makeover--decor especially.
Basic but correct and inexpensive place, very good value for money. Room a little bit small, with few equipment
The manager was very helpful and spoke perfect English, the room was spacious and included a flat screen TV, the air conditioning effective and the breakfast was simple but plentiful. It is across the road from the train station so very handy for inter railers. Very disappointed, no comparison to the quality of a 2* Ibis hotel. The furnishing and bedding were old fashioned, (sheets and blanket), the carpet was stained, the shower fitting was loose, and there were loose tiles in the bathroom. I wouldn't recommend it for more than a 1 night stopover.
Kindly service and good advice about to go to Cannes and tour de france.
Simple but very clean and large room with airco ( Optional -comfort room)
A good location in center of city and very nice english speaking staff.
Very friendly and helpful staff; small, but cosy, comfortable room; very convenient location in the town centre, two minutes walk from Valence Ville railway and regional bus stations and five minutes walk from the main local bus interchange. I would have been happy that the room was small, after all I had booked a single room and that was all I wanted, if the the price charged had reflected this. Most French hotels in my experience charge less for a room of this quality or offer a larger, better quality room for the price this hotel charged me.
Thé Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.. This hotel has a very good value for money There was no stand in the bathroom for towels or soap
the hotel has been remade, staff is helpfull and friendly... it's really few sightposted, cheese at breakfast is old and dried...
warm reception and friendly offer of help with luggage.Hotel is clean and all appears to be well organised
Not expensive Some cups and bowls for breakfast were dirty. Some dust in the room.
the rooms were a decent size and very clean. Also the price was excellent The only complaint i have is that it was pretty far from the train station
We got lost trying to find the place after midnight. The young guy working the desk was just amazing. So alert and so helpful! Great place and value for an overnight stay on a road trip.
Clean. Adequate comfort for overnight stay, tea and coffee facility. Dogs accepted. Strong smell of tobacco.
The food was good, the room very confortavble and clean and the location great as we were travelling north through France.
Good facilities for an overnight stop on the long drive to south of France, and at an excellent price. Friendliness of staff. Location near to a motorway junction.
Maybe the lcd tv in the room :) 1) The room was really small. That small that when sleeping I kept on pushing the light switch, the lights switched on in the middle of the night and I woke up like 5 times. I have slept very bad. 2) I booked a double bed and I have got a twin bed. 3) Breakfast until 9 am was a dramatic thing. I have been traveling a lot during the day before and I needed to sleep a bit more. When woke up I learnt it was too late for breakfast so I must have picked my car, go and search for a place to have a proper breakfast. That was not funny.
Nice location, good bed. Unprofessional staff, general (still common in France!) arrogance towards non-French speaking guests, expensive.
There was nothing that I particularly liked about the hotel except possibly the staff were friendly enough. It was a little to far from the main moterway for our purpose. I know that there is a Campanile at Valence North and this is closer.
Staff friendliness, overall good quality of food, confort and cleanliness. The final bill is high.
Easy to find. Breakfast good. Dinner menu confusing and food not great.
Friendly personal, Excellent bed & pillows, Free WiFi, Parking closed at inner yard. Easy access to parking direct from the floors
Good accomodation, clean, staff helpful, good location in valence.
Moder in the good sense of the word.
