The food was excellent and the beach was very good. We were able to relax so much here. The swimming pool and terrace was not large enough for so many people. The hotel's exterior was not very friendly.
Hotel prima! Het enige nadeel is de muziek (niet van hotel) 's avonds aan het strand.
friendly staff, excellent service, location, parking, food
The rooms are very spacious and each has easy access to the pool and beach. They all have large balconies with patio furniture as well. The hotels buffet meals were excellent and a great value since the low room rate included half board.
Even if the Hotel looks from outside a bit "socialistic", the restaurant, reception and lobby are renovated and looks very nice. There was an excellent cleaness in whole hotel and on the pool! The staff very very nice and polite. ...and EXCELLENT FOOD - very fresh, mede on the stage and very tasteful. The beach was about 200 - 300 meters walk from the hotel and the beach was also not very nice.
The hotel was spotless, absolutely gleaming! The large team of staff were very pleasent and could not do enough to make our stay an enjoyable one. The pool/pool side area were maintained to the highest standard with plenty of sun loungers. There was a large variety and quantity of excellent tasting food to suit anyone's taste and/or dietary requirements. With the exception of the little bottles of coca cola, the drink prices were reasonable. All and all I could not find not one fault with Hotel Zagreb. I would recommend it to friends, colleagues and family. No
the food was very well. the location was oke. no airco in the room.
For buffet breakfast and evening meal, the food was excellent; lots of choice and well prepared. Very good value for money for half-board at this time of year. The facilities were excellent; large reception area, good bar and evening entertainment, lots of room for sitting and chatting. Great pool and poolside area. Nicely set in own grounds and with own beach. From the outside it looks like a concrete monstrosity, and looks rather austere (not at all like the inside, which is very modern and bright). There was no public transport to hotel, only expensive taxis, so it was a long walk with the cases for independant travellers.
Staff were welcoming & helped when required.(our arrival was late). All facilities that were needed were provided without fuss.
we went half board - the wine and beer were on tap in the restaurant!!! Food excellent and evening entertainment really good. One of our party won the Karaoke which added to the enjoyment
Not suitable for young couples
Proximity to the beach was excellent, 2 min stroll. Food was also excellent plenty of choice with most dishes being cooked fresh in front of you. Very good facilities for families, play areas for small children, teenager clubs, trampolines, volleyball, swings climbing frames etc. Plenty of rental items on site e.g. bikes and Segways. The air con in the room was of little use. If you are in the room during the day then the air con is a waste of time you will cook. In the evening it is a little better but works out better to open the balcony doors.
swimming pool, food
Room was extremely clean and newly refurnished so the comfort was similar with a 4 star hotel (except the quite small tv and the lack of minibar - however both aspects where marginal for us). The buffet dinner included in the offer was exceptional: a lot of variety, very tasty and fresh. Really outstanding. Pool was clean and nice, the beach was really close, animation team was funny for the kid. The drinks at the buffet dinner where not included (not even water, coffee or tea) and where quite expensive. However due to the very good and variate food you could easily forgive them for that as overall it was extremely good value for money.
The food, pool, temperature. It has no sea view. You can not take bath in the sea (it is full of rocks, is dangerous), but you can use the hotel pool with salt water, it's ok. In Romania the sea is great!!!!! If you chose to go in Croatia, stay at a hotel with pool, the sea is only for the view, it's not for takeing bath's in it.
An ideal location close enough to the town of Porec The fact that there wasn't any tea/coffee making facilities in our room
We spent a week here and really enjoyed it. Great location with easy access to Porec town either on the "noddy" train or a 15 minute walk along the coastal path. Comfortable room with balcony overlooking the gardens, very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast and dinner buffet was the best we've had in any resort hotel. Staff were all very friendly and helpful...in particular Eleonora the room maid, Ivan the waiter and the brilliant reception staff who very kindly printed out our Ryanair boading passes (& saving us 80 euros.) Really a 10 out of 10 hotel experience.
The half-board breakfast and dinner buffer was great! I was amazed by the size of the buffets.
Location is good. Food have much variety. Room is clean and comfort, although a bit crowd.
Professional, Friendly and Helpful Staff ( A small point) Dark tinted glass in windows makes everything outside look depressing on a cloudy day.
It is very convenient access to the beach. The view from the balcony is good and hot plates were also grate! No refrigerator in the room
We have stayed there many times and it the friendleness and professionalism of the staff that we find most appealing. No
Staff, food, swimming pool, nice view ...
Food was excellent, drinks also included. I was satisfied, every evening was possible to eat some kind of fish.
Nothing in particular. This hotel was the most expensive (75 euros) we had throughout a 15-day trip in Croatia, yet it was the only one without air conditioning. The room was also one of the smallest we had on this trip.
Very friendly staff. Fluent in English and German. Good variety in buffet.
Friendly staff, nice dining room and food Room was a bit old, shortage of sunbeds
location, hotel gardens, friendly, helpful staff, evening entertainment, excellent breakfast and dinner buffets with wine and beer included, and the sporting theme of the hotel, good area for walking - will definitely return to this hotel.
variety and quality of food. staff is helpful and friendly. hotel is located in a nice park 15 mins walk from the beautiful city center of Porec. the hotel is a classic example of a soviet-style architecture -- you can feel the touch of soviet era everywhere in the hotel: bare concrete of walls and ceilings, general layout of the hotel, etc. You can hear what is going on in all surrounding rooms through the concrete walls. Those from the former Soviet Union will feel like being somewhere in Crimea or Sochi in mid 80-s. In our room there was no air conditioning (or even air vent). Air ventilation is one of the hotel's weak points - from time to time you can feel a vast variety of unpleasant smells.
It was a nice hotel compare with price. for a short holiday is ok, very close to Porec. The bilding doesn't look very well, but was clean and the services was good.
The setting was superb the hotel whilst not modern was clean and tidy the staff were generally very pleasant and all told a good destination that I would recommend to others. The staff were friendly and helpful apart from reception who seemed rather disinterested and not entirely helpful. The food was of a reasonably good quality but lacked variety in meat and not enough fruit was available. It was ok for the children but the adults became bored with the buffet .I do not agree with hotel guests being charged extra for loungers outside the pool area.
The hotel provided an enchanting location which was easily accessible by the ferry that was provided by the hotel. Ferry service was extremely regular. Hotel food - excellent. I never expected to eat there throughout my stay but I just couldn't help myself. Everyday a different selection to tease my tastebuds. Wireless internet in rooms would've been welcome + a fridge / mini-bar / kettle.
the island with beaches without people
Mini Club for kids, Dinner / Breakfast, Location Away from Porec town,
Food and service are good, close to the city center. I can recommend it for families with small children.
Nice surroundings, the beach is very close. The hotel staff is helpful and flexible. The kitchen smell comes up into the rooms and the noise of the cooker hood also. We missed the refrigerator from the room.
Good size room overlooking the pool and beach, unlimited drinks during meal times, easy access to Porec town.
Modern, luxury hotel with friendly helpfull staff, Very clean. Nice pool infrastructure; The Buffet meals both Breakfast and Diner were excellent and tastefull. The Coffee during Breakfast was undrinkable; Animation team was useless and oft disturbing. But personally I'm not into animation anyway.
The breakfast was good, not always the coffee..it is a new building so was fine. Room are to small, live music is old fashioned, booking.com lied about the seaside room reservation what we have faced at the reception from hotel.
very nice for family with young kids. need a car.
location' rooms and hotel and resurants are good no special comments
very nice design, very good breakfast, good position not enough space for wardrobe, we were there for two nights, if we came for a week it would be a big problem
close to city and nice view of the sea at therestaurant. And from the other side peaceful and silent. no air conditions in the corridors of the room and no fun in elavator.
this hotel is lovely to look at and stay at, everything was clean and modern looking, enough space for a couple in the double room, breakfast and dinner were both of very good quality, always fresh, always pool loungers free, good transport links into main porec town as hotel is in zelena laguna, cannot fault anything about this hotel, would definitly go back if i went to porec again
The rooms were decent though not large and the bathroom was good. Our room had a balcony with a seaview that was very pleasant. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The food at breakfast and dinner was not good and certainly not what I would expect in a 4 star hotel. The coffee was awful. The evening entertainment in the bar was very poor - 2 guys going through the motions at the end of the season.
Room very clean, pool area nice, in the surrounding area you have many activities for children, good connection to Porec (boat + minitrain)
Location excellent, at the seaside, among pine trees, within walking distance of Porec. Beatiful walks all around, and many interesting places to visit. Meals : buffet, with hot food cooked on the spot, different choices every day, very good value The hours for the evening meal are very strict, and restaurant closes too early at night. Check out time also very early: 10 a.m.
What a great surprise! It was our first holiday in Croatia and we had no clue what to expect. This is what we found: hotel - very clean, great view over the sea (ask for a room with sea-view between levels 4 - 9), the food is super delicious (this hotel is not for those who are keeping a diet, as the desire to taste everything is huge!), the Porec city is at 20 minutes walking on the edge of the sea (great for a night walk). Porec (the city) - lovely architecture, great restaurants, clean (everything was super super clean), you can negotiate all prices for the souvenirs :) One equally important aspect: English, Italian, German are spoken by almost all people working in the hotel or in the restaurants, therefore it's very easy to get along. This is one minor detail that was fixed asap: the room we initially got had a common door with the room next to ours. Of course, it was locked, but we could hear all the talks/noises coming from our neighbors. We mentioned this at the reception and they gave us another room, no problemo.
Mostly everything, very good! That we couldn´t check in when we arrived a bit early
Great location, excellent food, friendly staff. This hotel has an excellent value for money. Food was perfect and can out-compare some 5 star hotels which I was in.
Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and spacious room. The public spaces, the pool and the beach were nice and clean. Plenty of activities to choose from (biking, aerobics, diving, etc), lots of entertaining activities for the guests (band playing, welcome soiree). Delicious breakfast and dinner. Aside from the lack of a minibar inside of the room, everything was perfect. I would recommend the Valamar hotels to anyone who wants to spend a nice vacantion in Porec.
Beautiful view over the sea, funny programmes, closeness of the beach resort There was a door between our room and another guest's room and we could hear every single word they were saying. (and other voices, too... )I complained about this to the hotel management , but instead of giving us another room, they told off poor people next door.
The reception staff was very friendly. The Hotel is located very close to the beach. The hotel is surrounded by a park - enough trees and grass to rest your eyes, with a path running through it, by which you can get to the beach, a bar near the beach or just gor for a walk. The city center is in a walking distance from the hotel. The food was great, we especially liked the breakfast buffet. In the morning you could hear the moving of chairs in the dinning room in the room where we were staying.
I liked all! I would like to drink some tea during supper.
nature around the hotel, good location, close to the center more money was withdrew from my credit card
I liked an arrangement, the nature and a food. I didn't like design of numbers, a modest interior.
The view was fantastic! The room was beautiful. Everything was brand new!
Great location, good-taste, nice and helpful staff...We had a great time here! I would definitely recommend it.
The staff were universally kind, understanding and always helpful. We did not encounter any negative interactions on our trip. The rooms were immaculate and beautiful. Would definitely stay there again when we go back!
location, nice room parking (only few cars can park in the front of the hotel, the real car park is 2 km far from the hotel, sometimes we have to wait almost an hour for our car to get), pool and the wellness were really poor
great location, helpful, friendly staff showers were really impractical
Very friendly staff, fine views of the bay, very handy for Porec old town, very comfortable room If late arriving don't expect to get one of about 20 parking slots. The car park is 4 min drive or 15 min walk away, the staff will take you there anytime.
Perfect location. Lovely view of the marina. Really well located for old Porec, the Basilica and all the restaurants. Lavatory seat cover was loose and nearly came off. Shower temperature controls baffling. Air conditioning controls also baffling. Bar and restaurant area lacked atmosphere and was like a ghost town at night and lunchtimes. Having to telephone hotel to get in and out of the street leading to and from it.
The friendly staff nothing
The most friendly staff that I have ever met in any hotel ! At the reception very helpful people, Fantastic food. Rooms are very comfortable, fully equiped. Well situated. But one more time I have to say I am impresed by the personel !!! Swimming Pool could be a little bigger and there should be beach towels in rooms.
The hotel is excelent, the swiming pools are very nice, the all inclusive system is good.
the food is great.
The staff was friendly. I had an all-inclusive scheme, better name is fb. Any way the food was really excellent for a price I paid. There were great choice of dishes and beverages. In few words the right schedule for this hotel is: breakfast-see-dinner-sleep-see-supper-Porec. Porec is a quite attractive town to spend time there with children and without. The beach was not really well equipped and see was not clean afternoons. The pool is rather small.
Room cleaning was poor
New hotel, rooms are beautiful. You get everything you need, sleepers and toothbrush included. Staff is very nice and helpful. Aircon doesn't work properly. Heating works too much.
Brand new hotel, very nice and clean room, very good breakfast and excellent staff.
We stayed there for four nights and liked the service and the friendly staff very much. Being the first bookers on www.booking.com for Hotel Mauro the welcoming gift (white wine, grapes) which we got from the Hotel was much appreciated! :-) Also, we liked the modern and new interior design, the view from the balcony and the location right on the harbour promenade. The lovely city centre with its small and cosy restaurants was within short walking distance. Breakfast was OK and the pasta at the hotel restaurant delicious. It was very good to have a free parking lot in front of the hotel, but a proper remote control for the gate barrier would have been nice... ;-)
Staff, cleanliness, food, swimming pool. In one word everything was ok. Perhaps too small room.
Extremly good food.
Very good value for money. Varied buffet meals, lot of sports facilities, like tennis, mini golf, table tennis canoeing, etc. Very friendly staff (except for reception desk). Reception desk staff not very friendly. A less surly attitude could improve the first and last impression a lot.
The gin was teh worst gin I have ever tasted, We couldnt drink it.
Nice, new hotel. Large rooms en nice location The food contained too much fat. Desk employee was verry unfriendly
Beautiful new hotel, everything was working properly yet. Small but very nice room with balcony, view could have been wider but at least we were able to see the sea. But the best thing was booking for only 2 nights, I could have not stood the negatives for a week or two long... Each and every member of the personnel was like zombie, and we are talking about 15-20 persons from the reception to the bars and the restaurant. The 3 animators must have been aliens or they were not aware of this strange need-to-be-zombie rule. Food could have been rather mediterranean, I had thought I liked fish, but not the way it was prepared in this hotel, it was like shoetread...
Great location, excellent pools, good variety of food. The gala dinner was very nice. The room was too small, but anyway we didn't spent so much time indoor .
I appreciated the free bar, the hotel employees and the hotel price the location of the hotel compared to town is quite distant..
Very nice gardens. The rooms have very old fashioned decor
The best hotel for sea and the nature relax!
Very good kitchen for a buffet and very firendly service Still developing hotel infrastructure, something from the 80's - which longs for renovation. Beach chaislongs rented, no beach towels.
Breakfast wonderful - siuation in Porec perfect and central to all needs - boat trips shopping etc Two messages sent to me were not able to be "retrieved" even though I phoned desk and asked for same - not satisfactory!
We stayed in a one bedroom unit in the Residence. The unit was a good size and only a short stroll to the seaside. Valamar Residence is located about 200 metres from the crystal clear Adriatic sea and has lots of activities to keep anyone busy (from children through to older people). We stayed in early October which was very uncrowded.
Outstanding view, very accommodating staff, in a charming town. Excellent Summer and Fall vacation spot.
The view is very nice, nice equipment, friendly staff food in a la cart restaurant
Hotel was well-appointed and newly refurbished. Seemed much nicer than other hotels in the area. Nice breakfast and good walking location. Rooms quiet even though it was located in a busy area. It was helpful to have hotel parking in an area with little parking,, but may be confusing to guests if they were arriving during evening hours.
