The room was beautiful and the location wonderful -- just a short walk away from archaeological museum and old citadel. We loved eating breakfast in the hotel courtyard. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel manager was very friendly and helpful. The only thing we would have changed was that the room had two double beds instead of a queen. But this is a minor quibble.
The staff was welcoming and friendly. They allowed us to leave our luggage when we arrived in the moring after an overnight train trip and gave us tea. The decor and furnishings were tasteful and the hotel was very clean. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Checkout was efficient.
Nothing was too difficult for Manager, Mr. Levent Ustabas and his staff. He not only made my stay comfortable but also suggested activities that made my visit to Ankara most rewarding. Both in design service and management you could not ask for better.
The Angora Hotel is a fantastic place in many respects. It is located in the heart of the old town, very close to the castle and the Museum of Anatolian Civilazations. Walking distance to the district of Ulus where the Roman remains are located. One can also walk to the busy district of KiIizilay. The house is absolutely beautiful in itself and meticulously done up and kept. The owner makes the experience of staying in the hotel unforgettable: sociable, kind and helpful. I had a fantastic time in the hotel. Highly recommended.
Hotel has excellent location. It is tastefully decorated and well maintained. Owner was immensely helpful.
Our host, Levent, was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was excellent each morning: handmade omlette, cheese, tomatos, olives, salami, cucumbers, bread, coffee. The room we stayed in was lovely and spacious, in the old Ottoman style. The WiFi reception was excellent. Excellent venue for seeing the Anatolyan Museum, which is a "must see." We had the only bath tub in the 6 rooms because we were upgraded to the Triple. However, the water pressure was awful. Also, our room was right on the main alley up to the Ankara Castle ramparts. The school children hiked by our room in the mornings. And at night, it was worse, when the locals played and carried on their conversations at full blast until almost midnight! Sound proofing definitely leaves much to be desired! The hotel is located in the old section of Ankara, so it is a fair hike into town down a very steep, cobblestoned hill.
