The room smelt a bit like humid carpet. I missed having a small coffee/tea station in the room.
Weight room was spacious, with new equipment and quite. The treadmills have nice TV's mounted on them with many English Channels. They had a nice Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna in the locker rooms. The pools was nice. View from the room was spectacular. The prices at the Spa were ridiculous. Even though we had 200rmb per person off vouchers, it would still be highway robbery at those prices. If you know Shanghai well, you can get a classy 5 star massage for half the price.
Luxury and Class Nothing
Its location in Kowloon: close to all major shopping, traveling out, walking, view fron the window and outstanding stuff. No, I liked every thing
Fabulous views of the Bund and Pudong, the soft bed! (a rarity in China)
Very central location, polite staff and the view of the city. I always feel safe in this Hotel.
Well styled in keeping with period of building
Staff very helpful, polite and cheerful. Most spoke some english, particularly at reception. Hotel in the grand art nouveau style. Nice feel. Permanent bad drains smell in lobby area. Tried the two main restaurants, adequate only. Bar food fair. Breakfast very good. Incessant works, both in and out doors disturbing.
The front staff was very helpfull. they work dard to understand the guests requests. The internet business office. You should drastically improve it or get rid of it altogether. It is unbecoming of you.
view, location lack of hairdryer in 5 star hotel?
great location, rooms absolutely ok, especially the ones with a river view. The french named but chines produced red wine (in the minibar) was ridiculuously overpriced and among the bottom 5 wines I've ever tasted. The cheese platter (room service) was so poor it was laughable, again insanely overpriced.
The hotelstaf spoke english. Nice view of the bund at the evening. Nice rooms. Easy check-in. The western menu was microwaved. The food in the hotel was overpriced. There is no metro nearby.
It was an ok hotel for a weekend trip. I had a room with the bund view (part of the bund view at least). It is 10 minutes walking distance from the station but i have not tried it as taxi is sooo ship. It did not happened to me but I overheard one of the woman receptionist talking to a guest over the phone in a not so nice way. also, with the rate I have, internet usage should have been free.
breakfast too expensive , far from metro, no airport shuttle even though its written on the website , we booked for airport shuttle service, once we arrive, we realize there is no shuttle, I ask how can we get to airport, and they told me we can only take taxi...
Value for money since the amounts paid include buffet. location is not that ideal if you are going for city or shopping trip.
services - no one noticed you entering the hotel and queue up for check in
The rooftop bar (indoors and outdoors) with stunning view from the 26th floor is perhaps the very best thing about this hotel. The breakfast buffet is very good (though there are serious seating problems, see below.) The hotel staff were very polite and helpful once it became clear that there were problems that they could solve. The swimming pool hours were very disappointing: the pool didn't open until 11:30 am, which made a morning swim impossible. It also closed earlier than the other recreational facilities. The breakfast room was a logistical disaster: not enough tables for the guests and a complete lack of organization in terms of seating. Finally, Booking.com take note: there are no balconies at this hotel, despite booking.com's claim that the deluxe Bund view rooms have balconies!
the room was great and the breakfast buffet was very good.
Wish the next visit the in-door pool and spa are ready for the in- house guest for free not for club members only.... so far so good keep-it -up....
We liked this hotel and it's good value for money. We stayed on the 23rd floor so any noise from the construction outside we didn't hear. The room was very comfortable and the bed wasn't hard like some in China. The location in a 5 minute walk to The Bund and 10 minute to Nanjing St, so it's very convenient. The breakfast was very good, there was a big variety of Chinese as well as Western food. Freshly made omelette or fried eggs. All the coffee in Chinese hotels is the brewed American style which we don't mind but if you are after an expresso type/cappucino etc go to Starbucks or the like when you're out. The breakfast tables are round so you are joined by other hotel guests and we met some really nice people from all over the world. The constructiojn is because of the Expo so things will be finished at some point. Our friend stayed on the 7th floor and he could hear it so if you are a light sleeper ask for a higher floor. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
