Although the parador was built about 20 years ago, it feels like it is 300 years old. Located on the top of a hill overlooking San Sebastian and the sea, it is a rather romantic setting. The parador oozes with charm and the room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Service from staff working at Reception and at breakfast are excellent and efficient. Nothing to do with the hotel as such: when we arrived by ferry at San Sebastian, no taxis would take us to the parador because it was not far enough. Taxi drivers on the island are rare, greedy and arrogant. We had to phone the hotel in order to have a taxi to pick us up. The advice is to arrange a taxi with the hotel beforehand. Breakfast: the "tortilla espanola" on one morning had HAM in it although it wasn't labelled as such. Equally, people were expecting to use the same utensils to pick up cheese and meat. The needs of vegetarians need to be more taken into account. The advice is to book a room on a top floor as we could hear foot steps, the noise of people talking normally, going to the toilets, etc... from the floor above.
La Gomera is a jewel, and probably the top hotel is this one. Breakfast was outstanding and the food at dinner as well, very modern. Kind of expensive.
Location on top of the rock above the city, rooms decoration, staff hospitality, swimming pool. Breakfast a bit poor compared to the large hotels in other islands.

We loved the atmosphere and antique decor and the feeling that we were guests in a stately home. Such a pleasant change from anonymous modern hotels. Easy access from the ferry and an excellent base for visiting the mountains.
Gorgeous property overlooking the port with fantastic sea views and lush gardens Sewage smell from the bathrooms (we changed rooms twice)
Hotel is very nice, typical spanish architecture, the best from the all 4 hotels in San Sebastian de la Gomera The room was not good furnished.
Very professional, high standard hotel with superb clifftop location, lovely gardens and pool, and excellent food. Moonrise over Tenerife seen from the gardens is spectacular. Very good deals for older and younger customers.
The garden's were stunning along with views. we also loved how much character the hotel has. Very relaxing, very tranquil I didn't like that the "double" room i booked and paid for, was in fact a twin room with 2 separate beds - not very ideal for a young couple on a romantic weekend away.
Delightful ambiance and dramatic location. Breakfast excellent. Other food also excellent but rather expensive. Few reasonably priced meals/snacks. Hotel is high above the town so a very steep trek (or 6-8 E taxi) to do a quick shop or to catch the buses to other parts of the island - a free mini-bus service to/from town would be an excellent service.
Apartment complex is very pretty. It is a quiet place and just 7 minutes walk into the Veultas area with bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again. the pool area is lovel and the breakfast very good and very good value. A supermarket directly across the road is very convenient too.
Spacious appartments, excellent staff Bathroom fittings were looking a bit worn
Just the right location for us. very friendly and helpful reception We wanted an early breakfast as we were off walking the enxt day. But fully appreciate that they don't have facility for Breakfast before 8.00am
Excellent place to relax and start your daily trackings. The room is big enough, good kitchenet. Plus that you have to pay 1 EUR for 1 hour TV :-) No hairdryer; the swimming pool is not heated.
Central location The receptionist was very rude
good location for beach and restaurants sun loungers by pool uncomfortable
Spacious and clean. No sun all day on our apartment - though most of them do.
Relaxing on the balcony, sunbathing on the beach, hill walking on the numerous excellent trails; no
Good value spacious appartment. Large, clean swimming pool. Located on a sometimes rather noisy (early morning) street corner so could not leave the window open at night which meant the bedroom was too hot.
