Nice with free shuttle to airport, comfortable beds and spacious rooms. There were some ants in the bathroom and overall could use more in depth cleaning.
Nice facility great service and amazing staff! Leaving
The staff was wonderful and made me feel right at home. Check in and check out was very quick and efficient!! I also really enjoyed my dinner at the pool bar restaurant!! My room was very clean and comfortable as well and the hot water was AMAZING for my bath!! There was nothing I didn't like!!
Beautifully appointed hotel for a very reasonable rate. I'd definitely stay there again. And the staff was extremely helpful and accomodating.
Clean room, and spacious The gym was pretty messy, and too much equipment for the size of room it was in.
Prices for the food... It was over priced.
It was a good hotel for our stay in Costa Rica, but because of the location you can't walk to anything, you need a cab to go anywhere. The food at the restaurant, especially dinner, was expensive and not that impressive.
Staff are highly friendly and bilingual. Some of them at least. It's right off the freeway and a good price for what you get. Gym was hardly there at all. Fitness is important to me.I can improvise thanks to my training but I might as well have done bodyweight workouts. They didn't have someone at the front gate to let me in so I stood there for a while before crawling under the gate to open it myself.
Breakfast buffet was superior and the lobby, garden and the pool were beautiful. The staff were very helpful and kind. You have to take a taxi everywhere, and the cabs that are available at the hotel charge a premium to get you to your next location. It was $12 for a cab ride to Centro downtown and $6 for the cab ride back.
The buffet breakfast was great, variety and quantity. Enjoy that! The bed was very comfortable, did a lot of sleeping. The shuttle to the airport was free but it goes on the hour and you need to schedule your spots ahead of time. Not a good place to walk anywhere. We wanted food but the restaurant at the hotel opened at 6:30pm. Better expect to catch a taxi or dodge traffic across the highway to go out. Also the restaurant was expensive for the portions, if you want your value, get the dessert bar for 6$. They will charge you for that bottled water they pour you. Wifi was cutting out a lot. They hotel had seen better days, lacking on the details of maintenance. I was happy for a minibar but was told it was 10$ just to unlock it so don't expect to have a fridge in the room. There was an ice bucket though.
the grounds were beautiful the location
Close to where I work Old carpets that smell really bad. Swimming pool not accessible after 5pm or before 9am (Could bot use them since I am on a business trip) Old elevators with weird and scary sounds
Nice stuff very helpful ,clean room , Nice and clean swimming pool and the delicious breakfast
King size bed The cockroaches.
The hotel is interesting. The rooms are also setup strangely but comfortable. Good breakfast This place was sooooooo hard to find. We drove past it a couple of times. It doesn't look like a "normal" Country Inn and Suites. We didn't have the luxury of a picture before we tried to find it. There was NO sign!! They claimed it was down getting repaired. The front lobby looks like an office building. Please get that sign up!!
service, Courtesy, confort, convenience
I liked the idea of a full breakfast No rice and beans on the breakfast buffett!!!!!! (Costa Rican Staple) seems as a converted property to use as a hotel. The rooms and grounds were set up strangely and there were many stairs to travel from location to location on grounds. If driving your own vehicle, this hotel is very hard to find.
Even though our room was on the first floor and close to the lobby, it was very quiet. The room was clean and the beds were so comfortable. The staff was very polite and helpful and the food at both the restaurant and room service was excellent. The hotel interiors were beautiful and the pool area was very nice also. I would definitely stay here again.
This hotel has a nice layout and the staff is friendly. But there were some serious lapses. My wife and I purchased one of the hotel specials -- the Rain Forest package. When we checked-in around 9PM, it became clear that the receptionist didn't know anything about this package. And all other on duty staff knew little more. All they could find were a couple of 20% discount coupons for the Rain Forest attractions. They had no knowledge, for example, of when the tour operator would pick us up the next day. The coupons did have a phone number and they suggested that I call it. This tour business was, of course, closed for the day. So we did not know when the tour would depart the next day. So instead of getting up the next day at a reasonable hour and having a leisurely breakfast, we were forced to get up at 6AM, not knowing anything about our Rain Forest tour, and having to call to try to get it scheduled. We called the tour operator (who was very competent and very nice# only to find ou...
This hotel is poorly designed for noise, you hear every work and squeak from everything in the hallways and outside all night long. We didnt get one minute of sleep as people were constantly wandering the halls going to the casino or otherwise. Service was also very poor. The guest services couldnt tell me how to operate half the lights in the room. The front desk couldn t cash travellers cheques into US dollars and this was the only hotel that couldnt do this. They sent us to a bank that also wouldnt cash them and then we couldnt get back from the bank as the hotel had no guest transportation and no connection to any shuttle drivers. We had to wait almost an hour in a LINEUP to get a taxi back to our hotel less than a mile away. Big waste of time. Food was very poor quality and they made a mistake on both of our meals. The restaurant ambiance is very poor. We couldnt hear each other talk over the swearing and yelling of all the guys sitting at the bar waiting for the casino to open. W...
We really enjoyed this hotel. There was a large pool and the dining area was partly outdoors, partly indoors. It had a resort feel and our room was just a few steps from the pool. The only negative was that there was a party going on virtually every evening around the pool for larger groups and some mornings where they set up early. We were up early to go on tours but for most people this would be bothersome to have noise that early. I don't hesitate recommending this hotel to anyone but if you want quiet, ask for a room away from the pool area.
Forget everywhere else- for the money, for the comfort, for the warmth of the staff (the concierge helped me with the atm as it was in Spanish), the food, the pool and the gym are epic. Ironic that one of the best days of my vacation was the day before I left, at this hotel. Easy trip to the airport, too. We drove, but they have a shuttle.
My stay was very enjoyable. It was late when I got in and I wanted some wine to unwind with. The bartender was getting ready to close but served me two glasses and was very friendly. I thought the gift shop was loaded with interesting gifts. I also tried my luck at the casino on site. The atmosphere is like being next to a rain forest. One morning a bird of beautiful color and a vibrant song was outside my window. It is also within walking distance of a big mall. I highly recomend this place.
We loved the look of the inside of the hotel. When we were there we had a lot of wind. The metal sheets on the roof were rattling with high winds. We woke up a couple of times by the noise! Further there is no time limit on letting people stay at the pool side at night. When we were there the Canadian football team was also staying in the hotel. They partied a lot until late at night (read: morning 1 a.m. and at new years night until 4 a.m.) what kept us from sleeping because our room was at the pool side! Think that management should limit the evening hours at the poolside until 11 p.m. We missed a real Christmas and New Years celebration! They did not even count down at the bar. The two restaurants 'on side' were actual 1 restaurant because the other one was not open at all during our 2 weeks stay. No other restaurants were available within walking distance! The restaurant inside the hotel that was open served very good food with a lot of choice. Their buffets are very good. There is...
What a great place to stay after a long road trip. Very nice setting with beautiful plants and gardens, you don't feel you are in an enclosed building like in other places. The staff made us feel welcome and did a great job assisting us with tours and information. Overall a great experience, would definitevely return.
This is a clean, professional and friendly home away from home. Service is good and the staff greets visitors with smiling faces. The hotel however, definitely needs a gym/ exercise room. A tennis court would be fabulous.
This hotel is in a very good location. You can walk across the main road to shopping and restaurants.
Thanks to Cecelia for the greatful and wonderful stay! We come back! Best Regards from Andreas & Anika
Location is great for what we had to do in San Jose. The staff at the counter is always helpful with any of your demands. The price is ok for what you get. The parking is very secure. Even if the breakfast is included with the price, don't expect too much about it. We tried to get, at breakfast, at different timings but it also seems that they always ran out of coffee, multigrain bread or fruits. You can hear people from the other room
