The location When it stormed I had to park in a bank parking lot around the corner which made it for a very undesirable walk. When I pulled into the bank parking lot the attendant refused to let me park stating he had no idea what I was talking about. 2nd issue. The first front desk woman that checked us in was amazing. So helpful and nice! You could tell she really enjoys her job. The front desk girl who checked us out was horrible. She checked us out on Sunday August 31st. I asked the lady a couple questions about the area and she couldn't answer anything and appeared to not wanted to be bothered. I understand you have a concierge but he wasn't available. Please educate your guests a little about the area. Like recommendation on a nice restaurant. 3rd issue. The room was huge but I stepped in something that was very slimy. It appeared to be maple syrup which was all over the floor. I have stayed there before and had a better experience
Offered shuttle bus to Tropicana Field to attend baseball game. Helpful staff (especially Edith Odonez) Nothing. Great experience
Clean, good location. Can't have a rollaway bed in a room with two double beds. Have to go to front desk for ice!!!
There was no hot water the evening we checked in Had to wait until morning to shower
Shuttle service This was not a great hotel for family visits. Also, we had to pay extra for everything - parking was $16 a night , and for the price of a room it would have been nice to have some form of complimentary breakfast. I guess the more you pay, the more you have to pay. They made a big point of letting us know that the ice was complimentary, which made me laugh because where in this country is it not?
Location is good, 8min to Pier. The supermarket and some food store is just besides the hotel, very convenient. The room is old,and the staff sometimes forget to change the towel. The dryer is very very dirty, not like a 5 star hotel.
The staff was great. They even comped our parking because it was my husband's birthday. N/A
After reading some reviews i was thinking i may have made a mistake. However when i got there i was very pleased yes its an older building and not your typical hotel. If you haven't been to Europe you may think this is different. However it is a typical European style hotel. The location is perfect walking distance to all the bars restaurants. I think it was great. Its a hotel to sleep not to have a vacation. i'd describe it as a clean place to crash with a great location. The night front desk blond lady and another lady are were not friendly and i'd say rude. Very different than the morning lady i think she is Thai. She was very nice compared to these night ladies. Restaurant was price for the food they served.
The staff was beyond welcoming and so kind, and the location couldn't be more perfect. The room was small but it was the perfect size for what we needed! Loved it! The bed was a little stiff, but definitely nothing worth complaining about. Nothing but good things to say about the Ponce De Leon!
Requests for early check in, view, etc, are only offered. Check in seemed to be a bother to desk person. Questions about the reservation were only asked after a ton of negative remarks.
Nice size room for a boutique hotel, in a fantastic location on every growing St Pete dt. Farmers market on Saturday is across the street. Outdated bathrooms, and as mentioned the beds were a little uncomfortable. Hallways were a little shabby.
Well maintained & tastefully decorated. Staff is personable, helpful & professional. Lovely view of the bay from the 6th floor & great location in general.
Location is great for the downtown area, waterfront, restaurants & Bars Bare bones minimum. Feels like you're staying in a random apartment. Bring plenty of booze to get liquored up before you go to bed. Just weird. Random decor.
This place is a complete joke and a scam. I booked a luxury room with a queen bed and bath. I drove 2 hours from fort Myers and when I arrived there to check in they told me that I was being moved to their "Sister Property" . When we walked up to the "sister property" that was about 5 blocks away it was a house not even a hotel. The room that the lady escorted us to had holes and nails hanging out Where pictures were at some point, the bed was a pull out, A microwave sitting on top of a desk, and she gave me a key to the PUBLIC BATHROOM! And the Ponce De Leon was going to try and charge me the same price that I had originally booked for. I demanded my money back and left instantly.
Going in with low expectations is the key to a satifying stay at the Ponce de Leon. More unimproved that the term "Botique" would suggest, this is the destination for the seasoned traveller who has endured rough edges and no amenities for a great location. The desk staff was superb but the housekeeping is the worst with no coffee supply or toiletries restock after check-in and no sheet change in four nights. All in all, it's a great way to be in the best part of downtown, save a few bucks and relive old mempries of the seedier side of that trip to China.
Very clean. The downtown St. Petersburg location. No free parking: From Friday evening to Monday morning you can find free parking spot near parking meters in a few blocks radius around hotel. Hot water is changing temperature from warm to cold.
I loved the location. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Rooms weren't ready 5 minutes before check in. Older hotel with rooms to match. Small outdated bathrooms.
This hotel is in a great location for anyone that is wanting to go to a Rays game. The parking is confusing and the staff was not very friendly or professional.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room is small but nice. The bathroom was also small but good, except the sink has separate spigots for hot and cold.
