We visited this past week.Hotel was at 50% capacity. The service was great.Room was a suite ,pool side .No troubl se getting reservations at sister hotel ,Almond bay village. Best ever Italian food and attentive service.Enids restaurant prepares island food, the best soups we ever tasted. The 100 yard beach is the only downside, full of rocks and coral.Walk 500 yards to a lovely beach on clear, calm water. Wait staff put on a fashion show in bathing suits, they were great. All adults only guests mostly from UK and Canada.Very friendly.Book a private island tour on your own $105.00 US for 3 hours.
Great place to relax for peace and quiet. No kids. The staff was very friendly and acommodating
My friend and I booked this trip for a relaxing, uneventful, quiet vacation after some rough times at work and in life. We picked it because it's all inclusive and adult only. Needless to say, we had a fabulous time! From sleeping oceanside in the middle of the day then waking up for afternoon tea, to taking the Rum and Island tour, boat rides and snorkeling trips for relatively little or no money since all water sports were included in the price of the room. The hotel staff was fanastic by making sure to give us good tips on things to do around the island and always engaged in meaningful, genuine conversation. Our room was way more than we expected since it had a living room and a separate bedroom and a whirlpool tub with a shower. We definitely want to go again to experience some of the island's festivals in the future but it will not be soon enough.
Just returned from a wonderful week at the Almond Beach Club. The accomodations were great, the ocean was a stone throw from our balcony, and the bar was just around the corner from the room. The margarittas were fantastic. We love the water and the snorkling was excellent with a reef and two ship wrecks within an easy swim from the Club. The service was fair, but some of the workers took the time to learn our names and shared our experiences on a daily basis. The kitchen staff went out of there way to provide us with picnic lunches for our excursions. Meet alot of interesting people and made a lot of new friends. We were meet at the airport by an employee of the tour guide service. She had arranged transportation to the Almond and later meet with us to book our outings for the week. Everyone was on time and the trips were a lot of fun. I did feel like we were stiffed a couple of times by the locals. On one trip we stopped for lunch at a local roadside dinner and the prices ...
The front desk/office staff friendly & polite, however the staff workers - the woman to be specific, were just the opposite. My husband and I travel quite a bit, and I've never met more impolite, hostile, rude staff workers. The standard room was very small to the point of uncomfortable but clean. The beachfront is unaccessible to guest to use for swimming, must walk down some ways for beach access. The restaurant food was average sort of bland, surely nothing to rave about. We were unable to secure reservations at the 2 other restaurants on location and at the sister hotel Almond Beach Village for dinner. The one restaurant ALWAYS available is mostly buffet style meals. Not at all what I expected. Beware the All-Inclusive has many exceptions and they push activities and tours on the guest which are pricey.
The view, food and friendliness of staff Bed comfortable but quality of the room poor. Furniture tired. We were able to open patio doors but there was no proper balcony which we had paid for. The bathroom needed a complete refurbishment. The best part was the location with wonderful sea views.
My husband and I stayed at this resort recently and loved the staff and especially how they did the registration when we arrived. They gave us a drink and basically took us to our room...we have never experienced that before. The room we were in, wow. It was a suite and the living room had only three walls so one of the walls was open but the bedroom was air conditioned. This was the most romantic room we have ever stayed in. At night, we would sit and relax with a drink in our room but it was like we were sitting outside, with complete privacy. The Spa was amazing. We luv to work out and they had great equipment and a gym set up that not a lot of people were using. I did get a massage as well which was very relaxing. We also did the turtle swim which I highly recommend. Everything was included so this worked really well for us. We can't wait to go back and try one of the other Almond Hotels!
The sunny island, supper staff, best food and supper service, enjoy !!!
We stayed at the all inclusive for our honeymoon and could have been any happier. The hotel's food, amenities and location were all great to the point that we look forward to staying there again. You can pay more but that does not mean that you will get more. Also, the staff and the facility managed well. As travelers we are always looking for places that allow us unwind and be tourist and we do not quibble over small things.
The Beach View wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but in the end, we were extremely pleased with the whole experience. Our major complaint, and something we had not read about in any of the reviews we read, is that the hotel is right on a busy road. When we went to Reception the next morning to complain about the noise, the hotel staff went out of their way to accomodate us. Natalie and Carrie in the office were so friendly and helpful in booking a car for us, making dinner reservations, etc. The breakfast staff was also extremely fun and friendly. The suites are huge and really nice with great patios. The proximity to the shopping and restaurants in Holetown is perfect. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Beach View. We will definitely be back.
The accommodations were like new. The kitchen had everything we needed. The view is great. The Beach View has two wonderful pools and a beautiful beach is just across the road. The Beach View is a little far from the airport (the hotel arranged for one of their preferred cab drivers to meet our late evening flight), but otherwise well located. It is on a main busy street and local buses ($1 US) are frequent and provide a memorable ride to Holetown or Bridgetown. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. There are several very good restaurants within walking distance and others a short bus ride away. The staff happily made reservations (recommended) for us. I can't say enough good things about this place, and we are eager to get back to recapture that Barbados feeling.
The room was huge (since it was an apartment) and well furnished. Full kitchen was great for quick breakfasts, which we ate out on on patio. Laundry was very welcome, so we could rinse and dry our bathing suits and beach towels (supplied by the hotel) every evening. Staff was very friendly and helpful, booking us excursions, dinners and a rental car. Highly recommend the Beachview.
Friendly service. Clean rooms. Management upgraded our room but was reluctant to assist us in finding reservation for New Year's eve outside of the hotel which held its own event. With a little effort we secured a reservation at Champers on our own. Friendly staff but not always the most competent. Clean rooms but the windows are missing mosquito screens which are absolutely necessary. Internet extremely slow and the signal rarely reached the room. In summary, 5 star prices for 3.5 star quality.
One receptionist, Katrina, was quite above average. Fast and friendly. For a three hours longer stay in the room on the day of departure I had to pay 75 US dollars. The hotel was not fully booked though!!!
Pleasant staff, quick and efficient service, nice beach. The restuarant had very ordinary offerings re food...water's edge is deff not as advertised...food very ordinary and appears to be made in advance but the staff very pleasant and good service.
The beach was perfect - and the staff were very friendly.
beautiful grounds, great beach, wonderful room the bed was terrible, way too hard. We were ready to bring our family reunion there until we slept on the the bed.
The hotel is beachfront, nicely laid out, comfy, clean. It does not protect the guests from taxi overcharging - the only country I've been to (and I've been to many) where taxi fare from the airport to the hotel is cheaper than from the hotel to the airport!! Taxi overall is expensive, and there are no cheaper alternatives for families. Ocean waves were all the time too choppy to swim. Hotel could use renovation.
We just returned from a trip to Barbados and thoroughly enjoyed the Bougainvillea Beach Resort. This was our second year visiting the resort and we found the room, service and staff to be excellent. The resort is ideally located near St. Lawrence Gap and has beautiful grounds and views of the ocean.
They have two resturatants. The Waters Edge is the best restaurant on the island. There other restaurant is possible the worst. You have to request a room that you like. they will try to put you in room that has no view. so just simply request better room and they will review vacancies and put you in wonderful room. This is not a complaint but just heads up.
Very relaxing, every night they have some events to entertain. Staff are all lovely and kind but not too disturbing. Also it is very clear it cares about environment which is the best thing I see in such a resort island. Bed cover (top duvet and pillow) are not washed ages and smell bad. Hope they can clean it more often.
Climate, resort, friednliness:) Balcony and balcony doors were not clean.
Really friendly staff, good amenities and nice location
relaxing all rooms close to the beach n staff very helpful need another restaurant that is high end
I liked how friendly staff was! I arrived 3 hours later than I was supposed to, 2 in the morning and I was still greeted with a warm welcome! Housekeeping was efficient each day. The bathroom is nice and spacious and the beds were warm and soft. The living room had a comfy couch and and kitchenette. It felt like a home away from home. Would definitely recommend! I wish that we would have been able to use more than two devices on the internet connection. I could only connect my phone and my boyfriend's phone... wasn't able to add my laptop.
I liked how the staff is 100% dedicated to helping you have the greatest vacation. They even got me a rental car at the last minute! Very friendly. The view is absolutely spectactlar. The Wifi leaves something to be desired. It was only availible outside my room (I had to go to my porch) or go down to the pool.
The view from the balcony is to die for!! We stayed on the 3rd floor of this 4-story hotel and had a wonderful view. The location is good if you are looking for something near restaurants and bars that you can walk to, but far enough away to not hear it. Be sure to walk down the beach to Carib Bar & Grill--Great moderately priced casual beachfront restaurant. I only have 3 complaints: 1. They only had 5 beach chairs available (for a hotel with 36 or so rooms, that seemed like a very small amount). 2. All the pillows on the beds smelled like a mildewy towel. I had to smell all of them to find just one that didn't make me gag. But it was hardly something to complain about. 3. No free Internet. The rooms were immaculately clean--huge bath area with double sink and walk-in shower. The hotel staff is very friendly, like all Barbadians we encountered. We loved the full kitchen. Be sure to go the grocery store down the side street from the one on the main street. The one on the main street is...
We stayed for 2 weeks. The hotel was much nicer than we had expected. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was great lots of space to unpack for a 2 week stay. Lovely view and great beach. Thank you Coral Sands
The staff and owners were overly accommodating, even giving me a ride to a local medical clinic for a non-emergent issue. The property was just lovely, very quaint with a local flair. You received a drink of choice upon arrival and all staff (and even some locals hanging at bar/ restaurant) were very very friendly. Look forward to staying again the next time I am passing through Barbados!
Location, scenery The restaurant was closed
The facility was very clean and the grounds well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised at the state of the apartment that we stayed in, my 18 year old son and myself. It was in very good condition and quite comfortable. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT!!! The entrance driveway was a bit rough and bumpy and the parking area was completely undone. It would be great if they at least paved the parking area.
Condos were a little out of the way, however transportation was provided. We had a late flight and thankfully had our transporter stop us by KFC or we would have been starving. There are no close restaurants or stores. The place was lovely, but one night the weather was muggy and the mosquitos came out, there are no screens on the windows or sliding doors and no AC in the general area, only the bedroom. If you are a little adventerous and want a cozy place to spend some quality time, this is the place for you. If you need convenience and proximity to EVERYTHING, you might want to look elsewhere. Definitely should rent a car if you stay here. We did not since we were not comfortable with driving on a different side. Housekeeping came everyother day which was adequate and they did a spotless job cleaning.
For experienced travellers to Barbados, who want moderate rates without sacrificing quality, the Plum Tree is the perfect place. It is nestled in the bucolic, manicured setting of Rockley Golf Club and close to the best beaches and hotels Barbados has to offer. It is safe, clean, quiet. It is simply a treat!
Overall the stay was enjoyable, but it would be more convienent if the rooms had WI-FI capabilities or internet access and you did not have to drag your laptop down to the rec room and pay the 5BB dollars per day for daily internet connection.
Proximity to the beach is optimal, the service staff is amazing and breakfast is lovely. The ocean view studio is very cute and comes with a stove, plates and cutlery if one is interested in cooking for oneself. This was a pleasant surprise. The pool is not the biggest, and after having stayed at Accra Beach Hotel it was just basic but this is not a deal killer. The beach that the hotel occupies is not the the calmest but this is the south coast of the island and that's what you get. The walls are a bit thin and some adjoining rooms might have guests that are sticklers for quiet and your noisy child might drive them crazy :) Other than those minor things, they're really no downsides to this hotel.
