Tratar-se de um hotel em que há a possibilidade de relaxar apesar de se situar proximo da cidade.

When we arrived we were taken into the sister hotel Miramar as the Village was undergoing eco friendly alterations. These two hotels were situated on the same site but with separate entrances. We found the Miramar slightly old worldie with antiques scattered over the building and the decore was also of times gone by. The atmosphere was serene and peaceful. The food was good with extensive selection self-service breakfast with a delightful arrangement of small rooms, nooks and cranies within a larger room. This became an intimate candlelit dining area with waiter service in the evening. It had a staircase leading to a bar serving an interesting selection of cocktails. The staff could not have been more friendly and attentive.

I was sad we were not able to see the rooms but we were able to walk around the grounds of the Village which were the most attractive and peaceful gardens I have even seen in any hotel. There were many flowers and and shrubs in bloom even in November - better than the Botanical Gardens - so ideal for nature lovers. but the area is very hilly and not within walking distance of Funchal centre -especially for oldies! And there is no courtesy bus offered.
