Hotel de France

This is a comfortable and agreeable hotel with good facilities in a very central location close to all amenities, the historic centre and good public transport links. It is usually good value for money and services are of a high standard. I have stayed here on a number of occasions and dined or attended meetings during other visits to Vienna.

The wifi in this hotel is as bad as in so many other Vienna hotels. Free wifi is available, but requires a 12 digit/letter code and a separate code for phone, tablet, laptop etc. It only lasts twenty four hours so on a three day trip with three devices you are coding nine times. The signal has an annoying habit of cutting out. This is not a major complaint, but it should also not be a major issue for the hotel to resolve. Even in Vienna there are hotels which can offer simple, strong continuous wifi for multiple devices.
